A wuukor (pronounced /ˈwuːˌkɔːr/) is a buffalo-like creature native to Ruidus. Wuukors are sometimes kept by the inhabitants as cattle or mounts.

Description[]

Wuukors look like burly, six-legged buffaloes with thickly furred hide and "a mane of horns" around the front of their heads, typically six or eight on each side. They have massive, round-shouldered backs and are very strong. Their side-mounted eyes and square teeth indicate they are herbivores, and the prey of other creatures on the red moon. Their nose protrudes forward in a smooth curve like a stunted elephant, as opposed to a bovine-type nose. As they run, its bottom opens up.[3]

History[]

Wuukors live on the surface of Ruidus and tend to move in herds, adopting formations that protect their youngest.[4] During the frequent dust storms, they move directly toward the storm, into the wind.[5]

Some Ruidians keep them as cattle in villages such as Razora, depending on them to produce meat and leather.[6]

When Bells Hells visited Ruidus in 843 PD, they sighted a herd of wild wuukors, and later, upon reaching Razora, they found them being kept in pens. While they were there the adventurers fought Willmaster Edmuda and her allies, and the commotion upset the wuukors, causing a stampede.[7]

While Bells Hells were walking through Vaterra Kreviris they noticed that many beasts were kept there, including some wuukors.[8]
