Wildemount Wildlings is a three-part miniseries set in the Wildemount Wildlings Camp for Adventuring Kids focusing on four teen campers supervised by camp counselors Beauregard Lionett and Yasha Nydoorin. The campers "have failed to earn ANY merit badges all summer, and are relegated to the O.L.G.A. Cabin ("Oops, let’s go again") in shame. As these would-be young adventurers get one more chance to get their act together, what could go wrong?!"[1] Sam Riegel explained that the kids are all level 1 and outcast underperforming kids who need a little extra help, and Beau and Yasha are there to give them some tough love to whip them into shape so that they can level up.[2][3]
The events of this miniseries take place during Sydenstar, or late summer, almost certainly in 844 PD.[4]

Development[]
Wildemount Wildlings is loosely based on Sam Riegel's home game of Dungeons & Dragons with his kids and their friends.[5] At first, there were thoughts about having actual kids be the players, but this was decided against due to Critical Role's adult language and themes. Instead, Critical Role held recorded focus groups and brainstorming sessions consulting the kids "to create the Wilde-est traps, monsters, and NPCs for the campers to encounter."[1][2]
Character creation[]
All of the new characters are level 1 campers at the Wildemount Wildlings camp between the ages of 14-16 and in the lowest rank at the camp (called "Dainty Feet"). None of their players (except Brennan Lee Mulligan) were familiar with tabletop roleplaying games.[2]

- The shows were streamed at 6pm Pacific rather than the usual 7pm, one hour earlier than normal.[1]
- Creator Sam Riegel's home game for his children includes various locations he developed within the camp which appeared in the shows, including the Do Not Hike trail, the Hubbub Hub meeting hall, the Gross cafeteria with Phyllis the centaur lunch lady, and Salmon Lake (no salmon, but salmon-colored).[2]
- Several of the names of the ranks used by the camp are drawn from those used by the Boy Scouts of America, including "Dainty Foot" (Tenderfoot) and "Threebelow" (Webelo).
- The game system for this miniseries is Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition, although freely mixing rules and character options from 2014 and 2024.
- Sam's dream is to keep going back to the camp with different guests and characters playing the campers and counselors.[6][7] He would love to see other members of the Mighty Nein as camp counselors such as Caleb Widogast for his wizarding knowledge and Caduceus Clay as a great "guidance" counselor. Scanlan Shorthalt from Vox Machina and Fearne Calloway from Bells Hells would probably be the most fun and chaotic counselors.[8]
- The theme song lyrics (witten by Sam Riegel and sung by the campers at the beginning of each episode) are:
