Widogast's Web of Fire is a 4th-level evocation spell created by Caleb Widogast.[5]
Description[]
Widogast's Web of Fire requires one action to cast, with verbal, somatic, and material components. The material component is a cat's cradle of string coated in phosphorous.
The caster strikes their palms upon the ground, causing a web of flame to crackle out and streak towards up to five creatures the caster can see within 60 feet. The fire then explodes upward into a column of flame. Each target must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 8d6 fire damage on a failed save, and half on a success. Alternatively, the caster can cause all five streaks of fire to converge on a single target, intensifying the damage to 12d6 fire damage.[1]
The fire can travel over objects up to 5 feet high, but cannot travel through water.[7] Flammable objects in the fire's path are ignited.[1]
When cast at higher levels, the spell deals 1d6 additional damage for each spell slot level above 4th.[1]
