Nott casting Message[15]
[!h]

Revvetha "Veth" Brenatto[16] (née Smyt'hh) is a halfling rogue/wizard (earlier just a rogue). She took on the anagrammatic name Nott the Brave for a period of about two years while cursed into the form of a goblin girl. She is played by Sam Riegel.

Appearance[]

As a goblin, Nott had green skin, green hair, and yellow eyes. Her clothes were not in great condition, much like her traveling companion, Caleb. She hid her face with a hood and a porcelain mask. Nott was three feet tall.[17] In "Titles and Tattoos" (2x84), she got an aquamarine tattoo highlighting her eyes and temples.[18]

Originally, Nott was a halfling woman named Veth Brenatto, who had a plump face, dark skin, and braided hair. [19][20] In "The Fancy and the Fooled" (2x97), Nott regained her halfling form and began using her original name, Veth Brenatto, though she retained the piercings and tattoos she acquired as Nott.

For her Eiselcross outfit, Veth wears a pink lolita dress with fur trim and buttons going down the front. She also wears a set of earmuffs with antlers, based off of Keyleth's antlers.

During the battle with Cree in the tunnels beneath Cognouza, Veth acquired a red eye on her forehead.[21] She gained another in an unspecified location during the fight against Lucien, the Neo-Somnovem.[22] After Lucien's defeat, all red eyes on her person disappeared.

Personality[]

Nott hid in the shadows a lot because she knew goblins were not welcome in the Dwendalian Empire, especially around her home town of Felderwin, where goblins frequently raided.[23]. She was described as "jumpy" and got nervous and frantic very easily. Nott had kleptomaniacal tendencies that she tempered by drinking alcohol. Nott has an intense fear and hatred of water[24], having previously been drowned to death as Veth by goblins.[25] Nott dislikes dogs and clarifies that she did not have a craving to consume the flesh of humanoid children.

Nott's normally eccentric behavior is suppressed when the lives of her friends are in danger. The personality of Veth the halfling was twisted to be more extreme when she was Nott the goblin. Veth liked to collect things; Nott was a kleptomaniac. Veth enjoyed wine every now and then; Nott was an alcoholic.[26]

Nott was slow to trust and often greeted new people by threatening them[27][28][29] or lying about her name.[30][31][32] Once she grew to care about someone, Nott had strong maternal instincts. She was very protective of Caleb,[33] and demonstrated a caring attitude to many members of the party. Nott was very invested in keeping the Mighty Nein together and making sure everyone felt like an important part of the team.[34]

Despite insisting she was not brave, Nott put herself in danger several times to save the lives of her friends or help them achieve their goals.[35][36] She also came along on two underwater dives to help Fjord despite her fear of water.

When Nott was drinking and inebriated she was immune to fear, unlike her more cautious and fearful sober self.[37] She stated several times that she believed she needed to drink to be effective in battles.[38]

Nott said several times that she disliked and mistrusted goblins, seemingly due to both her upbringing and the suffering she and her family underwent at the hands of the goblin clan near Felderwin. One of her reasons for encouraging Caleb to become more powerful was so that he could "change" her. This seemed to suggest she suffered from a form of dysmorphia or a strong self-loathing, and it was later confirmed the reason for this was that she had previously been a halfling woman, transformed into a goblin against her will. She believed that Caleb could one day become powerful enough to determine the nature of her "condition" and change her back, hence her desire for him to grow stronger.[39] In "The Fancy and the Fooled" (2x97), her dream became reality when Caleb was able to cast a Transmogrification spell to transform her back into a halfling, and she was able to reunite with her husband and son.[40]

As both Nott and Veth, she showed herself sometimes to have bloodthirsty and homicidal tendencies, especially when stressed or excited. Nott proposed or threatened killing people numerous times, even killing a guard when fearing being discovered. Veth encouraged Caleb to vengefully murder Trent Ikithon for manipulating and abusing him, believing it would allow him to get over his past, and became practically obsessed with killing Otis Brunkel because of Otis's creepy demeanor and similar race and skillset to her.

Biography[]

Background[]

Veth's childhood - Origins Nott

Official art of Veth's childhood, by William Kirkby and Eren Angiolini from The Mighty Nein Origins: Nott the Brave.[art 11]

Nott was born a halfling, Revvetha "Veth" Smyt'hh, in the town of Felderwin. Growing up, she was often ridiculed for her peculiarities, which made it difficult for her to fit in, and she had abusive older siblings that used to chase her through the woods, lock her up or dunk her head in the water as "jokes".[41] One day Veth met a halfling man named Yeza Brenatto through a game of truth or dare, and eventually they fell in love. They were later married and had a son, Luc. About three and a half years after Luc's birth, the family was kidnapped by a local goblin clan led by a couple, Drekkit and Khaaz.[42] After being held there for weeks, Veth helped her family to escape, letting her son and husband run ahead while luring their captors away. She was cornered by the goblins and threw a vial of acid in their leader's face, killing him. The goblins recaptured Veth, and Drekkit's widow, Khaaz, took her to an old spellcaster, Isharnai, with instructions to "make her suffer".

Isharnai and Veth - Origins Nott

The Prism Sage brought Veth to the river and showed her her reflection, allowing her to appreciate her own beauty and value, just the way Yeza looked at her, despite her usual hatred for her own appearance;[43] then she drowned the halfling in the water, and though Nott believes that she died, she later awoke as a goblin.[44]

Nott was bounced around many different jobs in the goblin clan, eventually becoming Khaaz's assistant as torturer. She admitted that once, she accidentally ate part of a human baby that had been mixed into a goulash.[45] One day the goblins brought a halfling and during the torture process Nott hid, making Khaaz believe she had run away. When the goblin widow left Nott freed the halfling prisoner so he could run away, after which she escaped as well. After trying to return to Felderwin and being rejected by Yeza, who didn't recognize her, she was chased away; it was then when she found a porcelain doll she had initially given Luc as a present, and she started using a fragment of the doll's head as a mask.[46] Nott eventually wound up in jail for stealing cherry wine;[47] it was here that she met Caleb.[48] Caleb used Frumpkin to bring a piece of wire into their cell, which Nott used to pick the lock. Caleb proceeded to set the jail on fire and scream for help. The guards promptly fled, and Caleb and Nott walked out of the jail together. The two traveled together for awhile, at first out of convenience, but then out of genuine friendship.[49]

Pre-Stream[]

The day before they met the rest of the Mighty Nein, Nott and Caleb Widogast were attacked by a pack of gnolls hiding in the grass,[50][51][52] and Caleb was knocked unconscious. Nott fed him the health potion Caleb carried on his belt, saving his life.[53]

Campaign Two: The Mighty Nein[]

Arc 1: Come Together[]

"Zemnian Nights" (2x11)

Molly and Nott Exchange by cgkpluie

Fan art of Nott and Mollymauk Tealeaf after the latter caught her rummaging through Fjord's things in "Zemnian Nights" (2x11), by Rebecca Snowden.[art 13]

Fjord and Molly set up a trap to see why Nott was rifling through Fjord's things and trying to get his letter to the Soltryce Academy. While charmed by Molly, Nott revealed her desire to give the letter to Caleb so that he could fulfill his potential of becoming a very powerful wizard. She said that the rest of the Mighty Nein would not be able to help her. She expressed her fears of being discovered by the many dangers they would likely run into on their travels north, and that she needed Caleb to live so that he could protect, save, and ultimately change her form from that of a goblin[54].

"A Favor in Kind" (2x16)
Disguising herself as a normal little halfling girl, Nott spent an hour at a café having lunch and being, what she considered to be, a normal person.[55] Nott then paid 5 gp to send a package to someone in Felderwin containing a note, 50gp, a bunch of buttons, all the rings she had, a door knob, a brass baby bottle, all of her ball bearings, and the two bracelets she had.[56]

Arc 2: The Bad Guys[]

"Commerce & Chaos" (2x31)

Nott spent most of the two weeks of down time in Zadash shopping and crafting. She sent another package of trinkets and 100 gold pieces along with a note to an unknown person in Felderwin. She took apart the gun she stole from Hupperdook to figure out how the explosion was created. She attempted to use this knowledge to create explosive arrows and managed to create one after multiple failed attempts. Nott also commissioned a pair of human skin colored gloves with fingernails embroidered on them.[57]

Nott enlisted Jester's help in forging a letter to the Soltryce Academy. They wrote a letter from a fake law firm (Nott & Brave) claiming to be looking for Astrid, one of the Academy's students, because she had inherited money. Nott asked Jester not to tell Caleb about the letter. She believed Astrid was someone from Caleb's past who could help remember good times, but worried if he knew about the letter he would get upset. Jester promised not to tell Caleb and told Nott that Caleb had drunkenly called her "Astrid" while they were dancing in Hupperdook.[58]

"O Captain, Who's Captain?" (2x36)
Caleb, Jester, and Nott interrogated Gallan Westman, the only surviving member of The Mist's crew. When Gallan said he was not important and did not know very much, Nott tried to cheer him up by pointing out he was the only survivor of a "brutal attack." Gallan felt better until Nott mentioned the axe that had been in his head. Nott appointed him first mate, since he was only one on board who knew how to sail besides Fjord.

Caleb and Nott took the first watch that evening and talked about the previous day's events. Neither of them felt good about the way the day went; however they were both more concerned that the rest of the members of the Mighty Nein seemed unsettled. Caleb referred to the Mighty Nein as their new family and suggested that he and Nott make an effort to boost morale. Nott agreed, telling Caleb to fake a heart attack so the group could bond over "saving" him. Caleb apologized to Nott for casting Suggestion on her to make her swim. Nott said it was ok, but please warn her in the future if he's going to do that again.

Beauregard, Caduceus, Jester, and Nott spent time in Nicodranas spreading a made-up ghost story as a cover-up for the illusion Jester had cast on some guards during their escape.

During their watch one night at sea, Caduceus asked Nott, "Why are you trying to butter me up?" to which Nott replied that "many of us, not me of course, but many of us" were outcasts before they banded together. Now that they were traveling doing (mostly) good things, they rely on each other and she has been trying to keep the group together. Caduceus told her he's on board with the Mighty Nein, for now. Nott asked Caduceus to stick close to Caleb and heal him once they get to the island. Nott said her time with the Mighty Nein has seemed like a sign to her, even though she is not religious. She thinks it means there could be another chapter for all of them. Caduceus seemed surprised and said he thought he had Nott figured out.[59]

The next night, The Mistake fought off an attack by harpies. Caleb followed through on the plan to fake a heart attack right after the harpies were all gone. Caleb dropped the ruse after Jester fell for it and started to actually blow air into his lungs. Nott continued the ruse, saying the power of friendship healed Caleb. The group did not seem to be fooled. Fjord sarcastically asked how they can further prevent further "heart episodes" and Nott responded they only need more friendship. When The Mistake was damaged going through the reef, Nott hid in the crow's nest, as far away from the water as possible.

"Dangerous Liaisons" (2x37)
Nott went aboard the Squalleater with the rest of the Mighty Nein. She used the alias Gilligan when introducing herself to Avantika.

"A Hole In the Plan" (2x42)
Jester and Nott broke into Avantika's quarters on the Squalleater and stole her journal and some jewels. They escaped without being seen but set off several traps and left a hole in the floor, tipping Avantika off that someone had broken in.

Arc 3: The Bright Queen's Favor[]

"Homeward Bound" (2x48)
The Mighty Nein sailed back to Nicodranas. Nott was excited to get access to Tidepeak and for Caleb to meet Yussa Errenis. They decided to travel next to Felderwin so Nott could check in on her halfling friend Yeza (the halfling she helped escape from her own goblin clan).

Arriving in Felderwin, they discovered his business and home, Brenatto Apothecary, had been recently burned down during an attack by the Kryn Dynasty. Two Crownsguard told Nott that Yeza had not been seen since the attack, but they had not found a body. Yeza's son Luc survived and was now staying with a woman named Old Edith. The Mighty Nein searched the ruins of the apothecary, forcing open the magically locked door to the basement, where there seemed to have been a struggle. Several pieces of furniture were destroyed and there were blade marks on the walls. Nott picked the lock on an iron chest in the corner of the room, and found inside a retractable silver tripod[60], a vial of a strange grey substance that appeared to be in a state between liquid and gas[61], and several pages of notes that were mostly burned.

Only two pages were still legible. The notes described experiments with a "dumanis field" that created a large area around the laboratory where people inside sometimes felt sluggish and other times moved faster. Intelligence from captured Kryn Dynasty operatives indicated that they had been experimenting with Dunamancy and its ability to manipulate gravity, entropy, and time. Cerberus Assembly researchers had distilled one vial of dunamis and hoped to use Yeza to make more. The notes said that Trent Ikithon (Caleb's former teacher) had some pupils who showed signs of being able to use Dunamnacy.[62][63]

Nott turned on Caleb, saying it was "your people" who were doing experiments and hurt her friend. Beau and Caleb tried to subtly signal Nott to stop talking because Caleb had not shared that he had a previous connection to Trent Ikithon with anyone except them. Nott angrily yelled "fuck him!" and said she had to go see Edith. Caleb threw up in the middle of the room. Caduceus comforted Caleb, telling him Nott's anger was not about him.

Luke by my2k

After cleaning up, the Mighty Nein left the basement and walked to Old Edith's house. Nott cast Disguise Self to look like a halfling woman before knocking on the door. When Edith opened the door, Nott immediately asked for her son. Edith looked surprised to see Nott's halfling disguise and told her she was presumed dead. Edith brought a halfling boy to the door. Luc Brenatto recognized Nott's disguised form as his mother but was confused since his father had told Luc that goblins killed his mother. When Nott asked if Luc had been getting the packages she sent, Luc said he had been getting presents but did not know who they were from. He also told her that when the soldiers from Xhorhas had attacked, Yeza told Luc to hide, so he ran to Old Edith. Luc told Nott "don't die" before going back inside the house.[64]

Nott gave Edith two hundred gold to help her take care of Luc. Edith addressed Nott as "Veth" and told her that Luc was a good boy. As the Mighty Nein began to think about what to do, they noticed Vess DeRogna and Ludinus Da'leth walking towards the ruins of the apothecary.

"A Game of Names" (2x49)
After hiding from Vess DeRogna and Ludinus Da'leth, Nott told the Mighty Nein about herself and her son. Nott was born a halfling woman named Veth. She was always strange and bullied by her brothers growing up. One day, her brothers dared a boy to kiss her, and when he did he seemed to like it. Veth and the boy (Yeza Brenatto), grew close and eventually got married. They had a son named Luc.

Goblins raided Felderwin and captured the Brenatto family. Veth distracted some of the goblins to give Luc and Yeza a chance to escape. They were able to escape, but goblins caught up to Veth. She threw a vial of acid at one of them, who turned out to be a chief. The goblins took Veth to an unknown magic woman who wore a hood. The wife of the goblin chief told the magic woman to make Veth suffer. The goblins drowned her in a river. When Veth woke up, she was the goblin the Mighty Nein know as Nott.[65]

After about a year of living with the goblin clan, Nott ran away. Since escaping, she had been sending notes and packages to Luc and Yeza ("Commerce & Chaos" (2x31), ); but she was always unsure if they believed the packages were real. Nott was unsure what her family would think of her if they knew she was now a goblin. The thought scared her. She agreed to let Caduceus cast Lesser Restoration on her to clear the alcohol from her system and think more clearly about what to do next. The Mighty Nein decided the safest option was for Edith and Luc to go to nearby Alfield, where their ally Bryce Feelid could keep an eye on them.[66]

Nott apologized to Caleb for getting angry. After moving to a more secure location, Caleb revealed that he was born with a different name as well. His birth name was Bren Aldric Ermendrud. He shared with the rest of the party that he once trained with the Cerberus Assembly (something only Beau and Nott had known before). Caleb told the party that he lost his mind during the training and ran away. Since then he had been giving everyone he met false names to avoid being found by the Assembly.

The next morning, Caduceus cast Divination and they learned that Yeza was heading towards Ghor Dranas - the capital of the Kryn Dynasty in Xhorhas. After seeing Edith and Luc off on their journey to Alfield with an armed escort, the party investigated the tunnel the Kryn soldiers created during the invasion. Jester used Polymorph to transform into a giant honey badger and burrow through the collapsed section, reopening the tunnel for them. The Mighty Nein set off on the long journey to Xhorhas.

"The Endless Burrows" (2x50)
The Mighty Nein decided to go through the tunnels in order find Yeza. While in the tunnels, the group encountered two fire giants and a river of lava. Nott bravely walked across the river to reach the other side, but fell unconscious on the way over. Beau jumped in and helped her get across safely.

"Xhorhas" (2x51)
The group managed to find their way through the tunnels until they reached Xhorhas, where they were attacked by a pack of gnolls and some Kryn soldiers.

"Feral Business" (2x52)

Nott - Monica Magana

Fan art of Nott, by Monica M. Magaña.[art 17]

The Mighty Nein entered Asarius looking for faster transport to Ghor Dranas. There, they saw goblins, gnolls, bugbears, kobolds, and the occasional minotaur. When a massive minotaur, Sunbreaker Olomon, approached the party, Nott was very attracted to him and asked him if there was a "Mrs. Sunbreaker", joking that there's a 50/50 chance her husband is dead.[67]

Nott negotiated the deal with Zorth to purchase moorbounders at a discount in exchange for killing a creature that had moved into one of the subterranean nests where he breeds the moorbounders. Nott convinced Zorth that a tiny statue of a penis made with Jester's magical paint was actually the petrified penis of a tiny human. Zorth agreed to sell three moorbounders for six hundred gold and the "tiny dick" after the basement was clear.[68] The Mighty Nein found that the creature in the nest was actually multiple demonic dog-like creatures that had come through a portal to the Abyss in the basement.

After killing the creatures and closing the portal, the Mighty Nein took Zorth's suggestion to inform Lady Zethris Olios (one of the Kryn Dynasty's leaders in the city) of the portal. Jester and Nott, the "detectives", met with her. They introduced themselves as an investigative team and launched into a rambling explanation (with a little bit of innuendo) of the rift to the Abyss. When Lady Olios asked about their specialties, Jester and Nott rambled again and cut each other off (briefly mentioning Jester's tattooing and Nott's drinking). However their explanation of closing the rift convinced her that they could be helpful.[69]

Lady Olios offered them two potential jobs- find a Dwendalian Empire spy suspected to be sending messages from the Four Corners, or find the source of the rifts. She would pay coin for both jobs. She was also willing to offer a favor with the Bright Queen instead of coin, if they find the source of the rifts.[70]

Discussing their options with the rest of the party, Nott wanted to leave right away now that they have moorbounders, but also thought that having a favor from someone high up in the Kryn Dynasty would make freeing Yeza easier. The party headed outside of Asarius to rest and decide in the morning.

"Cornered" (2x53)
The Mighty Nein decided to find the source of the rifts in order a gain a favor from the Bright Queen.

"Duplicity" (2x55)
The Mighty Nein successfully closed the rifts in Asarius and reported back to Lady Olios.

"The Favor" (2x56)
Nott and the rest of the Mighty Nein beseeched the Bright Queen to release Yeza from prison.

"In Love and War" (2x57)
During their meeting with the Bright Queen, she agreed that the Mighty Nein could see Yeza and for the first time Nott realized she would have to tell her husband what happened to her. Privately, she was terrified that her husband would "be horrified by her appearance, taken aback, treat her like the monster that she is."[71] Nott asked Jester to send a message and warn Yeza that she was there but things were a little bit different now. Yeza was amazed she was alive and happy to be reunited with Veth once again.

Arc 4: Swords and Angels[]

"Dark Bargains" (2x83)
While exploring the Dreadnought chamber, Caleb discovered several unfinished equations for a more permanent transformation of oneself, as well as the gem that Halas's soul was trapped in. When talking to the gem, Nott expressed excitement about changing herself using magic.

"Titles and Tattoos" (2x84)
Caleb discussed with Nott the information that he gathered from the Folding Halls of Halas and the possibility of transforming her back into a halfling.

"Stone to Clay" (2x91)
Caleb, Nott, and Essek completed the spell that could transform Nott back into her original form. The spell ultimately failed, and it was revealed that Nott had had a continuing curse placed on her that prevented the transformation.

Arc 5: Family Ties[]

"Misery Loves Company" (2x93)
The Mighty Nein sought out Isharnai in order to remove the curse she had placed on Nott that prevented her from being turned back into a halfling. Jester used a cupcake she had sprinkled with the Dust of Deliciousness and a Modify Memory spell to convince the prism sage that she had enjoyed Jester's company so much that she would lift the curse from Nott.

Veth and Yeza - Stephanie Brown

Fan art of Yeza and the restored Veth kissing, by Stephanie Brown.[art 18]

"The Fancy and the Fooled" (2x97)
Nott was transformed back into Veth Brenatto and reunited with Yeza and Luc in her true form.

"Devoutness and Dicks" (2x107)
The night before Traveler Con, Veth wandered over to talk to Vilya, who was sitting alone at one of the tables. Veth reminded her she had a child that she must be missing, and while Vilya agreed, she was nervous to return. Veth sympathized. She herself was still not sure if she belonged at home or out in the world, but you can't delay forever. At some point, you have to go home. Vilya thanked Veth, before using Transport Via Plants to return to her home among the Ashari.

"Traveler Con" (2x108)
At the celebrations the night before Traveler Con, Caleb asked Veth and Beau to come with him back to the Empire. Veth was conflicted because she felt she needed to go home to her family. She wanted to help, but she missed her child. Caleb told her he was close to discovering a way to get her to her family wherever they were, so that she could basically commute. Later, Veth noticed Jester's jealousy of Celia Ovesso and borrowed the golden dick from Celia long enough to treat it with Sovereign Glue before returning it to her.

"Frigid Propositions" (2x109)
When the party returned to Nicodranas after Traveler Con, Veth visited Yeza and Luc at their new home. They loved living in Nicodranas and hearing about Veth's adventures. Veth remained with her family as the rest of the party spent the night at the Lavish Chateau and returned to Rexxentrum the next day.

"Dinner with the Devil" (2x110)
The party returned to Nicodranas to pick up Veth and teleported back to Rexxentrum, where they bought cold weather gear. Veth's outfit included antler-decorated earmuffs inspired by a red-haired woman she got a glimpse of through the tree transport when Vilya departed. That evening, they all went to Trent Ikithon's home for dinner.

"New Homes and Old Friends" (2x111)
The party returned to Nicodranas where Veth collected Luc and Yeza and they Teleported to Zadash. At The Invulnerable Vagrant, Veth had a flask enchanted to hold endless chilled rosé, and bought Luc a ring that created unlimited temporary spinning tops. When the party departed again to inspect Mollymauk's gravesite, Veth took her family to a decent inn in Zadash, the Lodge of the Eclipse in the Pentamarket, promising to be back in a few hours.

"The Chase Begins" (2x112)
After rejoining her family, Veth used Disguise Self to turn into Vess DeRogna, badly shocking Yeza. His fearful reaction made the party ask if Vess had threatened him. He described her as forceful, persuasive, and a terrible boss, but talked Veth out of killing her.

Arc 6: Weird Magic[]

"An Open Window" (2x114)
In Balenpost, Veth "offered" to pay for Vess DeRogna's meal but was incensed when DeRogna graciously accepted and took one of the bottles of wine with her upstairs. Later, while spending the night in Caleb's tower, he told her again he wasn't the leader of the group, but that it's an ensemble. She agreed, and they shared a hot cocoa brought by the cats.

"Fetching Fables & Frosty Friends" (2x115)
Veth used the Corecut Dagger, which Fjord had recovered from Avantika's body, for the first time on Gestaf the yeti and discovered it was cursed. Attuned wielders don't want to part with the dagger, so for her second attack on the yeti Veth chose to leap on it and pull the dagger down in its body, rather than utilize her usual crossbow.

"Under Timeless Ice" (2x116)
While exploring the ruins of Aeor labeled "A5", Veth threw the Corecut Dagger at one of the ice crystal creatures, where it lodged itself in the creature and fell into a deep pit when the creature was killed. When Fjord dropped the rope she was clinging to, Veth also fell into the pit but used Feather Fall to save herself and the others followed her down. At the bottom, they battled and killed oozes, after which Veth searched for and found the Corecut Dagger, to her relief.

"Solace Between the Secrets" (2x118)
While traveling through Aeor, Veth borrowed Caduceus's extra shield to use as a sled. Using Beau's Wind Fan, she sped down the hill, sailing off a cliff edge at the bottom.

"Malice and Mystery Below" (2x119)
Veth was swallowed by the baby-like creature at "A2", but was rescued and healed when the creature was killed by the rest of the party.

"Contentious Company" (2x120)
Veth used the magical banana peel Jester had painted for her in the Experiment Chamber of the Folding Halls of Halas to try to knock an attacking automaton prone. After Beau and Yasha arranged a date for the next evening, Veth told Yasha that to celebrate their victory, tomorrow night they'd do something together. Yasha tried to tell her she had plans, but Veth wasn't hearing her.

"Ice and Fire" (2x121)
When the party briefly joined with the Tombtakers, Veth tried to ingratiate herself with Otis Brunkel by playing on their shared race. They bonded over how stinky the butts of their tall travel companions can be after days without bathing, but maintained a healthy dislike of each other. Veth also apologized to Yasha that their evening together wasn't going as anticipated, and gave her a poem she had written in Yasha's honor. On watch that night, Caleb told Veth he felt guilty for talking her into coming to Eiselcross, but Veth reassured him she wanted him to talk her into it. She herself felt terribly guilty for being away from her family, but didn't know how to reconcile her feelings because the group was all a part of a greater whole.

"Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained" (2x122)
While in Caleb's tower, Veth mentioned they hadn't yet seen the eighth or ninth floors. Caleb agreed to show them some of its rooms.

"The Neverending Day" (2x125)
When the party distributed the magical items they received from Allura, Veth took the Blast Scepter, and in order to attune to it, tried but failed to put down the Corecut Dagger. Noticing her oddly possessive attitude about it, Jester Commanded her to drop it. When Yasha picked it up, Veth aimed her crossbow at her, but Jester quickly cast Greater Restoration on Veth and she was released from the dagger's curse.

"Sarsaparilla, Licorice, and Red Hot" (2x127)
Veth was part of Team Firestorm when the party broke into the Vergesson Sanatorium in order to retrieve the Amulets of Proof against Detection and Location stored there. They succeeded, and Veth was also able to retrieve a handful of crystals, but she, Caleb, and Jester encountered Trent Ikithon as they tried to escape.

"Cat and Mouse" (2x128)
Jester used Word of Recall to transport Team Firestorm to Veth's home in Nicodranas. There, Veth revealed the crystals she had stolen and Caleb recognized them immediately as the residuum crystals that were experimentally put into his arms by Trent while Caleb was a student. Veth told Yeza she had unforgivably messed up by putting them in danger, and that she felt she could no longer continue adventuring once this was over. Yeza told her that he had also brought danger to them by his own choices, and that he knew Veth felt better about herself because she had her own life. He knew she had to do this, but begged her to be safe. Veth promised.

Later, the party discovered the disguised Astrid and Eadwulf in the Lavish Chateau. When they left, Veth invisibly trailed them to a nearby elegant house where they meet another older female Volstrucker and Trent Ikithon. Veth raced back to the Chateau and warned everyone they needed to leave, now. They warned everyone else in the building to get out as well, and began running stealthily through the streets toward Tidepeak Tower.

"Between a Ball and a Hot Place" (2x129)
After the party Astral Projected to the Elemental Plane of Fire to escape the pursuing Trent, Veth and Jester explored the cavern they found themselves in. Jester suggested that if they saved the world and didn't die, they should seriously open a detective agency. They were interrupted by a fire elemental that rushed into the cavern where Veth's family was, slaying Luc. Caduceus was able to Revivify him, and Veth apologized over and over while Yeza put his arms around Veth and Luc as they sat together. He told her the Assembly had been a shadow over their family for too long, and that Veth must make them pay for this. Later, they cuddled together and Veth admitted she was not all right. This was the worst thing that could have happened. By trying to keep one of her families safe, she endangered the other. Yeza asked what her end goal was, and she told him of the coming of the Cognouza and the Somnovem. Yeza told her that if this force was a danger to Luc and him, then stopping it was protecting them, and there was no other choice. He bore some of the responsibility for involving their family by his decision to get involved with the Cerberus Assembly. They'll decide together what Veth will do.

"The Calm Before the Storm" (2x130)
After the party reached Zadash and the Evening Nip, Veth told Yeza she thought this would be the last adventure, and that afterwards, they could live in Nicodranas. She thought it would be two more weeks. Jester watched over Luc while Veth and Yeza crafted two more fluffernutters.

"The Genesis Ward" (2x135)
While exploring the ruins of Aeor, the party found a strange metallic stringless hand crossbow, which Veth kept.

"Hell or High Water" (2x136)
Veth was able to use her Mage Hand to pull the control lever of the Immensus Gate, making the portal close and vanish.

"Where There Is a Will..." (2x138)
Veth got the final blow on Cree Deeproots, but then had a red eye on her forehead which allowed her to send telepathic messages to anyone else with a red eye.

"Rebirth" (2x139)
Just prior to the party's battle against the Neo-Somnovem, Lucien taunted Veth that perhaps her husband or her son would be made to bring him the third required threshold crest, but she calmly replied that they didn't steal from nice people. During the ensuing fight, Veth gained another red eye and took heavy damage, but at one point, with the aid of Caduceus's Path to the Grave, she was able to damage Lucien for 100 hit points and cause him to disappear into the ground before being reborn as the Cognouza Incarnate, joined with the essence of the city.

"Long May He Reign" (2x140)
During the final battle against the transformed Lucien, Veth was at one point knocked unconscious but was healed by Caduceus. She was, however, still in serious danger directly at Lucien's feet. Fjord used Arcane Gate to reach her and bring her under cover of his Marine Layer, and shortly afterward the party succeeded in slaying Lucien. When Caduceus's Divine Intervention succeeded in bringing a soul back into Lucien's body, his name for Veth was "Tinker".

"Fond Farewells" (2x141)
When the party returned to the Blooming Grove in the immediate aftermath of the battle, Veth went to the spring and removed her clothing. After a deep breath, she for the first time voluntarily entered the water and floated, looking up at the stars. The next day, Caleb, Veth, and Jester Teleported into the Evening Nip, where Veth joyfully reunited with Luc and Yeza. They packed up, and Caleb teleported them and Jester back to the Blooming Grove. When Trent Ikithon attacked them there, Veth worked with Beau, smearing Sovereign Glue on the inside of the Collar of Silence, and using the Wind Fan to push a leaping Beau fifteen extra feet toward Trent, allowing Beau to reach him and fasten the as-yet-unactivated collar around his neck.

Following the battle, Veth gave Kingsley her Flask of Perpetual Booze, saying she didn't need it anymore. She and Yeza decided to open an apothecary in Nicodranas and she invited Caleb to teach Luc magic when they were settled. The party escorted her to the family's new home before heading to Rexxentrum with Trent. When saying goodbye, Veth urged Caleb to forgive himself and be happy, and gave him a kiss on his arm and a kiss on his chin.

Post-Campaign[]

Veth - Ari

Official Level 17 portrait of Veth, by Ari.[art 19]

Six months after the conclusion of Campaign Two, Veth was making plans to receive the first group of campers at her new camp for talented young teenaged adventurers, the Wildemount Wildlings: "Wilde out!" The camp was free for the campers because Veth had an agreement with The Gentleman to launder his dirty money for him. Both Yasha and Caleb were involved in helping her with the camp and the campers. Veth also helped her husband Yeza test scents for products for his new alchemy shop.

When Veth received a Sending from Jester, telling her their boat sank, Fjord had given away the key, and they needed Veth's help, she was otherwise occupied with Yeza but responded she'd be there. Caleb then teleported to Nicodranas to pick her up, and she put Yeza in charge of dealing with her newly-arrived campers. She accompanied the party as they traveled to the third and final temple, and once there, at Fjord's request, she climbed to its top. There, she saw multiple carvings depicting the sun, and a small gap in the fallen stones along the stone platform at the top revealing a deeper path below. Veth Messaged Fjord this information and he directed the whole party to climb the temple to join her there just as the pursuing storm giant and deep scions knocked down the trees surrounding the clearing and pushed through.

In the ensuing battle, Veth got the How do you want to do this? on the giant with her Aeorian Security Cannon. On the ship heading south to intercept Uk'otoa, Veth crafted a Fluffernutter. During the battle, she utilized Brenatto's Voltaic Bolt-assisted crossbow strikes, critting on one for massive damage. At the end, they each took a shot on the creature, with Fjord finishing it off with a lightning-enhanced strike with Star Razor striking Veth's Fluffernutter.[72]

When she returned to Nicodranas, her first camping session turned out to be a smashing success once she rejoined it. Only one camper died but was resurrected by Jester (who was teaching arts and crafts) and thought the whole experience was amazing. There were twice as many sign-ups for the next year. Jester, Yasha, and Caleb all assisted in teaching the campers through the next years and Veth's son Luc eventually became an instructor for younger campers. At some point Veth took him with her on a trip to the Feywild, although its strange magic aged him some years.[73] By 843 PD, he was a rebellious teenager who became more and more frustrated with his lack of freedom. Veth regretted teaching her son to pick locks, especially when he ran away from home and had to be located with the help of Kingsley.[74]

A month after Luc ran away (and was forced to return home), the apogee solstice of 843 PD started. Some sea creatures attacked Nicodranas, and the Brenatto family stayed with their campers at home in order to protect them. When the Mighty Nein visited them to ask for Veth's assistance in their battle against the now-freed Trent Ikithon, Veth declined to join, with her current responsibilities and the tense situation with Luc taking priority. Although Yasha showed annoyance because their friend was not coming, the group accepted it, and Yeza, after wishing them good luck, tried to distract and calm his wife down. Luc, however, took that chance to leave with the Mighty Nein, taking with him many tools and items from his parents (including Veth's Aeorian Security Cannon).[75]

Shortly thereafter, however, the Mighty Nein participated in the Exandrian Accord's three-pronged assault on the plan of Ludinus Da'leth to release Predathos, and Veth joined them, meeting with the members of Bells Hells for a day. Veth was very attracted to Braius Doomseed, a minotaur in the other party, and flirted with him. Later, she expressed some regret at not having seized her opportunity to have a fling with him.[76] Veth participated in setting the explosives that damaged the Prime Pillar. Her rivalry with Beauregard was still present, and Veth went so far as to sabotage Beau's attempt to cross a chasm, risking serious injury to her, to win a bet.[77] However, when the two found themselves near each other during the infiltration, they fought together and defended one another.

Nott Level 5 - Kasia Brzezinska

Official art of Nott, by Kasia Brzezinska from "Dignity: An Adventure with Stephen Colbert" (Sx67).[art 21]

A level five Nott the Brave, along with Beau and Yasha, joined Lucky Jack in defeating the evil Madrak and recovering the holy reliquary called the Spirit of Virtue or, colloquially, Dignity. This adventure is not canon.

Relationships[]

Beauregard[]

See also: Relationship between Beauregard and Veth.

Nott thinks Beau is a cool secret agent since she revealed herself as a monk of The Cobalt Soul. The two of them have bonded mostly through their mutual friendships with Caleb. Nott seems to have little to no faith in Beau's people skills,[78] but seems impressed by her fighting abilities.

Luc Brenatto[]

In Nott's previous life as Veth the halfling, she and her husband Yeza had a son named Luc. Veth loved Luc and was very proud of him. She was willing to sacrifice her life to save Luc when goblins captured them.[79]

When she became Nott the goblin, she still cared for Luc and sent him presents. Luc was not aware of who the presents were from. Luc was confused when his mother appeared at Old Edith's (Nott used Disguise Self to look like Veth when she talked to him) since Yeza had told him she was dead. He did not seem to trust her or be happy to see her.[80] Nott was terrified that Luc would find out she was a goblin.[81]

Luc blossomed when reunited with his father in Nicodranas, and Nott came to visit them there several times, always using Disguise Self to maintain her former halfling appearance for Luc and rebuild her relationship with him. By the time of her transformation back into her halfling form, they were warm and loving again. Luc admired his mother, adored her crossbow, and thought that she was pretty badass for her exploits. Veth bought him a toy crossbow to practice with.[82]

When he grew up Luc became frustrated with his mother's attitude towards him living his own adventures, and she was exhausted having to deal with his teenager mood. However, despite the tension between them, they still loved each other.

Yeza Brenatto[]

In Nott's previous life as Veth the halfling, she and Yeza got married and had a son named Luc. Veth helped Yeza run Brenatto Apothecary. She learned how to use alchemist's tools from him. Veth was willing to sacrifice her life to save Yeza when goblins captured them. She admires Yeza's mind, describing him as brilliant.[83]

When she became Nott the goblin, she sent letters, gifts, and money to Yeza, anonymously at first and later signed as Veth. Nott had not told Yeza that she was a goblin, afraid of what he would think of her.[84] However, when Yeza was kidnapped by the Kryn Dynasty, Nott unhesitatingly went after him, with the rest of the Mighty Nein, on what seemed like a suicide mission.

When Yeza and Nott met in the prison beneath Rosohna, Nott was apprehensive about revealing her new identity. Using Disguise Self, she hesitantly and gradually showed her husband her new goblinoid form. Defying Nott's expectations and fears, Yeza proclaimed his love and acceptance of her, saying that all that mattered was that she was still her.[85]

After completing the transformation in "The Fancy and the Fooled" (2x97), Yeza and Veth celebrated with each other, now a complete family once more.

Between 842 and 843 PD, Yeza started working on a potion that would empower and protect his wife in battle, should she ever need it in a mission. However, he respected her decisions about adventuring, both when she joined her friends (when Uk'otoa was released) and when she refused (when Trent Ikithon escaped prison). When talking to Yasha just before the assault on the Weave Mind, Veth admitted that she wanted ideas to keep her marriage fresh, although she loved Yeza and their sexual life was very healthy and intense.[86] However, she sometimes got frustrated by him not being strict enough with Luc, and strongly regretted not pursuing a fling with Braius Doomseed, a minotaur and member of a race to which she had always been attracted.[87]

Caduceus Clay[]

See also: Relationship between Caduceus and Veth.

Nott was initially suspicious of Caduceus, wondering what he wanted in return for helping them with the Iron Shepherds.[88] However, she has become more welcoming towards him, especially when he was having a mental breakdown after their fight in Nicodranas. Caduceus was also accidentally killed by one of Nott's explosive arrows under the well in Asarius.

Fjord[]

See also: Relationship between Fjord and Veth.

Nott had been supportive of Fjord's desire to learn more about his patron despite her fear of water.[89] Fjord and Nott also like to make fun of each other. Fjord jokingly told Nott a story about a ship full of buttons that sank so she would feel better about going underwater in the Diver's Grave.[90] Nott later retaliated by telling Fjord that in Xhorhas, there are thousands of eye shaped balls he can swallow.[91] There is tension in their relationship caused by Nott's belief that Caleb is the group's "leader" and she views Fjord's tendency to take charge as challenging that.

Frumpkin[]

Nott has eaten Frumpkin twice.[92]

Artagan[]

The Traveler, while mainly interacting with Jester, has had one slight encounter with Nott as well. In the battle under the Cathedral in Rexxentrum, a green hand was seen guiding Nott's crossbow and helping her aim. Jester also created a holy symbol of the Traveler for Nott, hoping that she would become one of his followers.

Jester Lavorre[]

Jester & Nott as Detectives by Nikki Dawes

Jester and Veth are very close friends. They share a similar knack for getting into trouble and get along very well, often helping each other out or teaming up to go on crazy misadventures. Veth's small size and aptitude for trickery proved to be a great complement to Jester's love of pranks and whimsical behavior. The two have also shared more serious emotional moments, sharing advice and looking out for each other. They form a self-proclaimed detective duo.

Yasha Nydoorin[]

See also: Relationship between Veth and Yasha.

Nott commented on Yasha's size, possibly intimidated by it. Later, she gave her flowers in the hopes that the large woman would not kill her.[93] Nott and Yasha bonded over being the only two members of the Nein to enjoy eating rats, though Nott prefers hers raw instead of cooked, which is Yasha's preference.[94]

Nott was very suspicious of Yasha after she had fallen under Obann's control, believing that she might have been evil the whole time.

Nott has stated that Yasha intimidates her, and that she often gets tongue tied in her presence.[95]

With time they became closer, and although Nott (and later Veth) praised the aasimar and even admitted she found her attractive, she also had a tendency to do jokes that her friend didn't necessarily understand. An example of this was Veth making Yasha believe she had the ability to cast Message and Sending.

Caleb Widogast[]

Nott and Caleb - Ana Fedina

Fan art of Nott and Caleb, by Ana Fedina.[art 23]

Caleb and Veth are best friends[96] and love each other unconditionally, often referring to themselves as part of a family. They met when they were both going through very difficult times, and have supported each other throughout their journeys, helping each other overcome many obstacles. The two have been overly protective of each other since before they met the Mighty Nein.

Veth and Caleb - Alartriss

Fan art of Veth and Caleb, by Alartriss.[art 24]

Caleb cares a lot about Veth. He has taught her many magic tricks, and when she started creating her own spells, he was very impressed and proud of her. He tirelessly helped Veth find a way to be a halfling again, and was the one who finally transformed her back into her true self. He has also supported her and helped come up with solutions when Veth shared her doubts about staying with the Mighty Nein versus living with her husband and son. Veth has a lot of love for Caleb, often checking up on him and looking for ways to make him happy. Veth once described Caleb as being like a son to her.[97] Later, she said she had been attracted to him when they first met, but no longer feels that way about him.[98] Veth has told Caleb that he was the "second love of her life", to which Caleb responded, "I love you too, Veth the Brave."[99]

Sunbreaker Olomon[]

Nott immediately had a crush on the massive, muscular minotaur. She thought he was "fucking hot", and asked him if there was a "Mrs. Sunbreaker".

Doolan Tversky []

Nott has something belonging to Doolan Tversky. When asked about her relationship to Doolan, Nott said that Doolan would not recognize her name if it came up.

Otis Brunkel[]

Initially, Veth attempted to curry favor with Otis by relating to them, as they were both halflings in parties of larger folk. Later, Veth tried to sabotage Otis with a Phantasmal Force that Otis was unaffected by, but from there forward their relationship was soured. During the fight with Gelidon, the two attempted to hide behind Fjord. Veth held strong contempt and hatred towards Otis, seeing them as a sort of "bizarro" version of herself, and this culminated in Veth getting the killing blow on Otis.

Devexian[]

Veth was the one to repair Devexian's power core. She was also attracted to his voice and self-confident demeanor after he was repaired.

Character information[]

Quests[]

Nott hoped to return to her original form and reunite with Yeza and Luc. She believed that Caleb would one day be powerful enough to restore her to her halfling body, and consequently supported his endeavors to improve his arcane capabilities.[100]

Appearances and mentions[]

Quotations[]

  • "I LOVE TRINKETS SO MUCH!" (a not-at-all ironic quote in-character as Nott)[199]
  • "This is fine." (said while inside a burning building)[200]
  • "I'll be part of this Fjord Expedition." (a pun on Fjord's name and a model of car by Ford Motor Company)[201]
  • "Are we Fjord Explorers or Fjord Escapes?"[202]
  • "He can protect me."(Nott under a charm talking about Caleb.)[203]
  • "You can reply to this message."[204]
  • "There’s a bit of a misconception here. Caleb and I have a very special relationship. It is that of a parent and a child. But I am the parent. You do understand that, correct? I protect him. He’s my boy. And I keep him safe. I want him to thrive and get better and better and more powerful and stronger. Because he can achieve great things. When I found him, he was nothing. He was a scared little boy in the corner of a jail cell. And as we have gotten [sigh] more comfortable, he has gotten more comfortable and come out of his shell. It’s my job to protect him because I love him, and I am his protector. Not because he protects me."[205]
  • "I’m so sorry, it wasn’t you, it’s not your fault. It wasn’t you, you were made to do it. It’s not your fault, it’s not your fault. I know you don’t realize that now, but you will. This pain that you have that you wear all over you like a mask, it’s just that and you can take it off someday. I know it hurts but it wasn’t your fault. And I’m just gonna keep telling you that until you believe me...What you did was awful, truly terrible, despicable and unforgivable. Until you can forgive it. At some point, you’ll have to do that. And I swear to you that I will be at your side until you do." (to Caleb)[206]
  • "I am the greatest detective of all times! I poured one drink, and I solved the case!"[207]
  • Nott: "I have to bare my teeth at everyone! Look at these things- they're huge!"
    Keg: "You have no choice?"
Nott: "No! I have very thin lips, very long teeth, some would call them fangs. It's not my fault. When I smile it looks like I'm trying to bite your throat off." [208]
  • "Molly said not to steal from happy people."[209] (response to being asked if she wanted something from Molly’s corpse)
  • "Do you know Pumat Sol?" (asked of every Firbolg she's met)
  • "Are you saying to me that we made a mistake?"[210] (asked of Jester after a plan that went disastrously wrong)
  • Nott: "I'm not a religious lady. But I will tell you that, for me, this journey with this group has been a bit of a sign. And I know that you're questioning whether it was for you, but-"
    Caduceus: "What kind of sign?"
Nott: "A sign that there could be, for all of us, another chapter."
Caduceus: "Wow. I thought I had you figured out. Never mind. All right."
Nott: "I'm gonna drink now." [211]
  • "Fluffernutter!!"[212]
  • "Chemistry's good, baby, but killin' is better."[213]
  • "To Zadash!"[214]
  • (to Essek) "You are a broken person who had ill intentions and wandered aimlessly into a path that you had no intention or no idea how to complete. And yet somehow along the way, you found a heart. You sound like all of us. Welcome to the Mighty Nein.[215]
  • "Every one of us has left without saying goodbye to someone in our lives."[216]
  • Veth: Is there - are there preparations that we need to make, like ... you know, like a code word or anything? Or should we - should I bring a bomb in case things go awry?
    Jester: Ooo, good call.
    Caduceus : Really?
Fjord :Do you have a bomb just sitting around?
Jester: Yeah, a bomb's always good to have, you know around, just in case.
    Veth: I have a bomb, yes.[217]

Trivia[]

  • "Nott the Brave" is an anagram for "Veth Brenatto," Nott's former name.
    • Sam teased her actual name with aliases used in early episodes: Veth (at the Cobalt Soul), Bren (as Fjord's daughter) and Atto (at the Hour of Honor).
    • "Nott" is also the name of the Norse goddess of night and the grandmother of Thor.
  • At the start of the campaign, Nott had the lowest charisma of any player character so far at 5. After her magical tattoo and returning to her Halfling form, her charisma was 7, making the current lowest Ashton Greymoore at a 6.
  • Nott is the second player character in the main campaign to be a different gender from their player, and the first such character to be a regular party member in an ongoing campaign. The first was Shale. There have been two others since then, Calianna Mordsson in Campaign 2 and Lieve'tel in the Search for Grog one shot.
  • Nott's statement that she "loves trinkets so much"[218] was an inside joke about Trinket, Vex'ahlia's bear companion from The Campaign of Vox Machina, toward whom Sam Riegel and his previous character Scanlan Shorthalt were frequently disdainful.
  • Nott estimated her age between 6 and 9 years. By goblin standards, she said that this makes her "almost grown" and "of childbearing age".[219] Since goblins reach maturity at age 8, this would indicate that Nott is around 9 years old.[171]
    • As with Scanlan's initial age, this may be a 69 joke on Sam's part.
  • Nott weighs 45 pounds.[220]
  • Nott only has four fingers on each hand.[221]
  • One of her and Caleb's cons, Modern Literature, involved Nott shooting a book located underneath Caleb's armpit (that only she knew was there) and Caleb playing dead.[222]
  • Nott's favorite whiskey is "the type that gets [her] good and drunk."[223]
  • During a nighttime conversation with Keg, Nott claimed that she was a pretty good dancer. Nott later revealed that she was in fact only an average dancer.[224][225]
  • Sam's introductory description of Nott referred to her as a "little goblin girl," while his previous character Taryon Darrington initially referred to Vax'ildan and Vex'ahlia as "little elf boy" and "little elf girl," respectively. Deborah Ann Woll would use a similar introductory description for her character Twiggy, who shares Nott's class and subclass.
  • According to Sam, the spell used to transform Veth into Nott was indeed Reincarnate. However, he did not elaborate on how the spellcaster specifically chose her goblin form.
  • Nott is the first player character to kill another player character with friendly fire.[226]
    • She is the second player character to be the direct cause of the triggering action that led to the death of a player character, the first being Percy who got Vex killed by setting off a trap in the Raven Queen's Tomb.
  • Nott's parents were named after cast members Ashley Johnson and Travis Willingham, because their characters, Yasha and Fjord respectively, were the ones who first asked about them.
  • Although Veth said she had three older brothers,[227] in The Mighty Nein Origins: Nott the Brave there were four young boys chasing her. Since in different memories only one of the kids actually called Veth his sister,[228] it is unknown if the four boys were the three brothers and a friend, several children among whom was at least one of the Smyt'hh brothers, or if Veth had one younger brother in addition to the three older ones.
  • While technically Veth is Sam's first multiclass (since she took a level in Wizard at the very end of Campaign Two) he didn't have the opportunity to play her as such for an extended period of time. That's why in his Instagram stories Sam said that Loquatius Seelie (the bard/warlock that he plays in Exandria Unlimited: Calamity) is his first multiclass character.[229]
  • Nott was the first player character in Critical Role who started her adventure as a married person.
  • Although as a halfling, Veth has the Lucky trait allowing her to re-roll natural ones, Sam has said he thinks the ability isn't fun, so he ignored it.[230]
  • Because of Jester and Nott's prank in the Platinum House of Zadash early in their adventures together, Braius Doomseed (who was head of security there) wants to find her and Jester and kill them both.[231]
