This article is about Percival's sister. For his daughter, see Vesper Elaina de Rolo.

Vesper de Rolo is the older sister of Percival de Rolo, who was killed by Sylas and Delilah Briarwood during their takeover of Whitestone around 805 PD.

Description[]

Vesper and Julius de Rolo were the two oldest siblings of Percival de Rolo. They handled matters of court in Whitestone and were being trained to inherit from their parents while Percival was left free to pursue his studies.[2] When the Briarwoods staged their usurpation of power in Whitestone, she was flung from a tower wall and killed.[3]

She remained an important memory for Percy. She was one of the names recited by him when he confronted Desmond Otham, the Briarwoods' carriage driver, after their initial escape from Sovereign Uriel's feast.[4] She was also the only family member whose tome Percy tried to find in the Endless Athenaeum.[5] He named his first-born child after her.[6]

Appearances and mentions[]

Trivia[]

  • Her name means "evening" in Latin.
  • Taliesin Jaffe confirmed that the reason why Percy looked for Vesper's book first in the library was that he (the actor) had talked to real-life Vesper recently, so it was the first name that came to his mind.[7]
  • In The Legend of Vox Machina, although references and short scenes of Percy's siblings were made in different episodes (starting in "The Feast of Realms" (LVM1x03) and "Shadows at the Gates" (LVM1x04)), Vesper was only mentioned by name once, and an older sister of the gunslinger wasn't shown. In The Legend of Vox Machina: The Whitestone Chronicles: Ripley, there is a scene in which the de Rolos are attacked, and an older girl is called "Vesper" outloud, confirming she did exist in the adaptation, even if her role was somewhat combined with Cassandra's as the sister closer to Percy's age.
