Vendallo is a member of the undead crew on the Crimson Abyss, a ghost ship sailing the seas around the Shattered Teeth. As an NPC, Vendallo is played by Matthew Mercer.
Description[]
Appearance[]
Vendallo, like the other members of the crew, looks like a skeleton with signs of his orcish blood.[1]
Personality[]
He was proud of his skills, appreciating praise. He seemed to enjoy every part of his work, including the suffering of the person getting tattooed.
Biography[]
Background[]
He learned about tattooing while he was alive, but never had actual time to practice.[2] After he was cursed along with the rest of the Crimson Abyss, Vendallo used his skills as an artist to mark the skull of Sanjay, one of his crewmates.[3]
"Phantasmal Parley" (3x72)[]
In 843 PD, when Bells Hells struck a deal with Captain Urlu Novos and joined him on board, Vendallo was organizing card games and became annoyed when he saw that the other skeletons started paying more attention to "Rollies", the game introduced by Imogen Temult.
"Kindling the Spirits" (3x73)[]
After having noticed the impressive work Vendallo had done marking Sanjay's skull, Ashton asked him for a tattoo for themself. Vendallo told them that he usually worked on bone, but Ashton persuaded him by explaining how a tattoo on a living person would allow him to be truly immortal, since otherwise his work would never leave the Crimson Abyss. Vendallo then agreed, and tattooed every member of Bells Hells.
