Valley aurochs are wild cattle that inhabit the Marrow Valley of the Dwendalian Empire. They are large, horned oxen creatures that have dirty black hides and an aggressive temper. Their horns are wide and sharp.
- "Aurochs" is both the singular and the plural for this animal (similar to "sheep").
- The aurochs is a real-life species of cattle that once inhabited Europe, and it is the ancestor of domesticated cattle. The aurochs was declared extinct when the last recorded aurochs died in Poland in 1627.
- Unlike the real-life aurochs, the Valley aurochs apparently more closely resembles the American bison (or "buffalo").
