The Valley Coalition is a loose confederation of the villages in the Demithore Valley of central Issylra.
Description[]
The Coalition maintains law and order within the Valley, tries to keep the region safe and prosperous, and guards against the influence of Vasselheim and their gods.[1] The Valley worships the "pagan" Demithore Eidolons and the inhabitants have resisted conversion to the religion of Othanzia.
Known members[]
History[]
The Coalition has existed since at least 643 PD, 200 years ago at the time of Campaign Three. There had been a history of conflicts among the various members of the Valley Coalition as well as some brigand groups, and a gallows and graveyard was built at a crossroads near Hearthdell as a means of punishing those that broke the laws of the Coalition. One of those executed there cursed the area, and now only grave robbers attempt to explore it. The Coalition has let the forest retake it, and tries to forget that part of their history.[2]
Campaign Three[]
When the location of the shifting ley line nexus during the then-approaching Apogee Solstice became clear as being centered over Hearthdell in the Valley, Vasselheim built a large temple to the Dawnfather in Hearthdell and tried to locate other land on which to construct additional temples to other gods, such as the Wildmother.[3] The members of the Coalition were aware of Vasselheim's new interest in the area, and the elders were ready to seize the opportunity to drive them out before they were overrun.[4]
When Team Issylra left Hearthdell in search of the archdruid Hevestro, Elder Abaddina told them, if they found others of the Coalition, to tell them about the destruction of the Sunrise Sanctuary in the village, and let them know Hearthdell was at the ready to help them as well.[5]
