The Utesspire Mountains are a mountain range on Issylra to the west and southwest of the Demithore Valley.[3]
Description[]
Its jagged terrain is populated by "ferocious" creatures, including goblinoids, discouraging Othanzia from expanding very far past its borders.[4][5]
The mountains are exceptionally tall and dangerous-looking, appearing like an intimidating crown of teeth on the horizon.[6] There is at least one small habitable valley between the mountainous section bordering the Demithore Valley and the rest of the Utesspire Mountains, four or five miles from the nearest town.[7] There are also some lakes and rivers, but none of them big enough for a warship.[8]
History[]
These mountains were the earliest hunting grounds of the Slayer's Take, and several monsters were defeated there after the guild's foundation.[9]
The Hishari village of Tumilo was located at the base of the Utesspire Mountains before its destruction.[10]
Around 839 PD[11] a very confused Timpani Guff used the Transport via Plants spell to appear, along with his adventuring party, in a hot valley in these mountains. His friend Poogs, originally from this region, immediately recognized where they were, and agreed to bring the group to his former home,[12] now called Hug Hive, and freed from the Curse of Strife.[13] A few days later the adventurers returned looking for one of Frog's missing pieces.
