Umleta is a halfling and a mortal avatar of Lolth, the Spider Queen. As an NPC, Umleta is played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.
Description[]
Appearance[]
Umleta was described as a small halfling woman carrying a bow and arrow who was hiding in the ceiling before descending on a rope.[1] Despite being the mortal incarnation of a god, Umleta is "kind of a little cutie."[2]
Biography[]
"Downfall: Part One" (3x99)[]
Umleta was one of the four Betrayer Gods present at the abandoned Aeorian temple when the mortal incarnations met for the first time to discuss the status of the development of the Factorum Malleus and what their response to it should be. All of the Betrayers present urged the group to destroy the entire city rather than attempting to simply take out the god-killer weapon, but agreed to postpone the decision temporarily. When they decided to split into three teams to accomplish three separate objectives, SILAHA, Umleta, and Emhira formed a team to seek information about both the Eravox Protocol and the identity of the celestial informant giving information to the Aeorian rulers.
"Downfall: Part Two" (3x100)[]
When Trist found a book of prayers praising the gods, she asked Umleta to trace the owner and a thread appeared going out the door, leading to a vision of a young boy lying in a hospital bed. Umleta then left with SILAHA and Emhira to visit the Ars Elysia, where she went off on her own and wasn't able to be found when the other two mortal avatars first questioned the angel Garathran, and then went to aid their siblings to destroy the Obtenebrator Engine.
"Downfall: Part Three" (3x101)[]
When the mortal avatars returned to the Ars Elysia, Umleta descended on a silken rope to show SILAHA the image (in a crystal) of the celestial Acastriel speaking to the Aeorian archmages of the Magestri. She then showed the captured image to the other mortal avatars, convincing them of the need for immediate action. When the group divided, she went with Trist, Cassida, Arcadia, and Emhira's duplicate to keep an eye on them on behalf of the Betrayers as they went to the scroll batteries holding knowledge about the Factorum Malleus. Trist hugged her before leaving the group to join the other mortal avatars at the Factorum in the final battle there.

Deity Abilities[]
- Divine Prowess: After calculating all bonuses, the Spider Queen doubles the result of any skill check she makes. Her passive skill checks are also doubled.
- Divine Magic: The Spider Queen may cast any cleric spell or domain spell of a domain she grants of any level once per turn without using a spell slot (it still takes an action, however). The Spider Queen's spell save DC is doubled as is the range, area of effect, and duration of all her spells.
- Divine Vitality: Provided she hasn't taken damage since the beginning of her last turn, the Spider Queen regenerates all hit points at the start of her turn. All her death saving throws are considered Natural 20s (bringing her up to 1 hit point automatically). Her maximum HP, current HP, and any temporary HP given by spells is multiplied by 10. Finally, she is immune to the poisoned, petrified, and paralyzed conditions, as well as any disease.
- Divine Potency: All damage the Spider Queen deals by spells or weapon attacks is multiplied by 10. After rolling an attack roll, the Spider Queen can double the result and use that instead. After calculating all bonuses, the Spider Queen doubles her armor class. Her range with ranged weapons is also doubled.
- Divine Resistance: The Spider Queen has five Legendary Resistances. After rolling a saving throw, she can double the result. The Spider Queen is immune to all non-magical damage, damage from weapons that are not Artifacts, and damage from spells of 6th level or lower. She is also immune to two elemental damage types and resistant to four elemental damage types.
- Divine Awareness: The Spider Queen has truesight, blindsight, and tremorsense to a range of 120 ft. She can speak and understand all languages (spoken and written) and communicate telepathically to any creature she can see. She is immune to the charmed, frightened, stunned, blinded, and deafened conditions.
- Divine Vigor: The Spider Queen regains all limited use class features at the start of her turn. She is immune to exhaustion, and after all bonuses are calculated, has her speed doubled. The Spider Queen has three Legendary Actions per round.

Quotations[]
- (to the Prime Deities present in the Aeorian temple) "It's just nice to see that you all don't get along."[5]
- "Maybe we'll be family after this. It's a little dream I have. Because I feel like when you get down here in the dirt with them, you realize there's not that much to like. Maybe we'll convince you that this little truce can last as long as we want it to, if we all decide to work together. Go team."[6]
- (to SILAHA) "When I look at this stinking heap of buzzing flies, I see one rotting stench at the center, and it's a gift that they never should have gotten. Why don't you take some responsibility for why we're all here cleaning up your mess?"
Trivia[]
- Umleta was the mortal incarnation of Lolth, the Spider Queen. Early hints of this were the multiple references to her skittering movement, dislike of SILAHA (Corellon), and usage of ropes (which Brennan likened to threads of a web). In "Downfall: Part Three" (3x101), she also told Trist that one day she would wrap the Everlight up in her web.
