Tussoa is a frontier city along the Tyodan River on the Menagerie Coast, and a member of the Clovis Concord.[2]

Description[]

Once a Ki'Nau fishing village, Tussoa has grown into a small city under the control over the Clovis Concord. Reflecting those humble beginnings, while the central district at the intersection of the Pulum and Vaigvasa roads is busy and modernized, the outer residential areas are still primarily reed-and-straw structures. Unlike some of the larger cities of the Concord, Tussoa is minimally involved in politics, and its people pride themselves on a simpler life. The greatest threats come from the surrounding Copia Wildwood and other natural sources. The city maintains a small force for protection in addition to a small number of Zhelezo, and it is common for important figures to hire bodyguards.[1]

Tussoa's primary export is timber, which the Majest and Regver timber guilds both supply to Port Damali by way of the river. These guilds are competitors, and frequently hire mercenaries to guard their logging sites, eliminate the dangerous creatures of the Copia Wildwood, or protect their shipments.[2]

Marquis Tusila Latu is renowned for her just treatment of the citizens and Zhelezo of Tussoa, and in a departure from the actions of the previous marquis, Maros du Simmas, involves herself personally in all life-and-death trials held in the city. She is of Ki'Nau descent, and prides herself on Tussoa's Ki'Nau heritage.[2]

The Myriad does not have a significant hold on Tussoa, but there are a handful of those with Myriad connections within the city waiting for an opportunity to establish a presence. Low-level crime, however, is common, due to the small number of Zhelezo and the remote location of the city, despite the marquis's best efforts.

Geography[]

Tussoa is V-shaped, with the point along the northeastern edge. Pulum Road, along the north side of the city, houses most of the inns, shops, and warehouses in Tussoa as well as some small residential areas. Vaigvasa Road runs along the Tyodan River; the side along the river is full of logging stations and fishing huts, while the inner side includes more commercial and residential areas.

Lotoe Plaza sits at the intersection point and serves as a town center, in which celebrations are held. Lotoe Plaza is also the site of the Olo, a former temple of Uk'otoa which has since been converted to the court of the marquis.

Society[]

Demographics[]

Tussoa is about half the size of Nicodranas, with a population of 15,100 as of 835 PD. The population is 74% human, 10% elven, 8% halfling, and 8% other races. Many Tussoans are of Ki'Nau heritage.
