The Tuskborn Breastplate of Reprisal[2][3] is a piece of armor given to Yasha Nydoorin by Obann.[4]

The breastplate gets its name from the horns, reminiscent of tusks, that begin at the front of the breastplate and curl backwards over the wearer's shoulders.[5] Pumat Sol identifies it to be of infernal make.[6]
It is implied, through Pumat's assessment that it has "bad energies"[7] as well as Ashley obliquely mentioning that it carries "consequences"[8] that there was some sort of negative impact of the enchantment on the armor; however, it was not revealed in-game.
History[]
Yasha was given the armor by Obann, and first appears wearing it in the battle at the Chantry of the Dawn in Rexxentrum.[9] She chooses to wear it for a time, despite apparently having mixed feelings about it.[10][11] After the party found the Coat of the Crest, Yasha considered wearing that along with her Bracers of Defense instead, and after the party returned to Rexxentrum after Rumblecusp she had the coat fitted for winter weather and from then on wore that with the bracers instead.[12] She eventually brought the armor to The Invulnerable Vagrant for Pumat Sol to identify, but only after she had ceased to use it.[13]
Behind the scenes[]
Matt mentioned that he introduced the breastplate as both a way to make Yasha more of a threat, and as a clear, visual indicator of her character arc during the time when she was under Obann's control.[14]
