Tofor Brotoras is a silver dragonborn paladin of Bahamut and a member of the Tal'Dorei Council. As an NPC, she is played by Matthew Mercer.
Description[]
Appearance[]
Tofor has silver scales and no tail. She wears platinum plate armor carved with multiple symbols of Bahamut.[2]
Tofor lost an arm during the Chroma Conclave's assault on Emon.[3]
Biography[]
"Shopping and Shipping" (1x14)[]
Tofor attended the council meeting when Vox Machina returned with a Horn of Orcus. She was very much against it being kept in Emon.[4]
"The Feast" (1x24)[]
Tofor attended the feast held in the Palace for the Briarwoods, although she seemed very unhappy to be there.[5]
"In Ruins" (1x41)[]
In the aftermath of the Chroma Conclave's attack on Emon, Vox Machina learned from Gilmore that Tofor Brotoras survived the attack, and Empress Salda Tal'Dorei mentioned that she was helping survivors.[6]
"What Lies Beneath the Surface" (1x81)[]
Tofor briefly appears, bringing in troops to secure the area around Thordak's lair.
Before and during Campaign Two[]
Tofor was still on the Tal'Dorei Council as of 836 PD.[7] Though some Emonian merchants wanted to bring the Mornset Countryside into the Republic, and there was mixed sentiment among the Mornset's Free Folk and the Orroyen tribes for Emon's assistance in warding off the Iron Authority, Tofor warned the rest of the Council against provoking that militaristic empire, which had long been distracted by its attempts to conquer the hostile Rifenmist Jungle.[8]
Campaign Three[]
After the apogee solstice of 843 PD, when an international alliance, the Exandrian Accord, was formed between different countries to work against the Ruby Vanguard, Tofor was sent to the Tishtan excavation site as heraldry of the Tal'Dorei Council. During her time as part of the alliance she worked with some Ruidusborn that eventually left to go to Ruidus, forgetting their previous duties.[9]
When Allura Vysoren brought Bells Hells with her to the Red Center, Tofor noted they were a motley crew but welcomed them regardless; however, when it was revealed that Imogen Temult and Fearne Calloway were Ruidusborn themselves, the dragonborn became cautious, due to her previous experience with those born under the light of the red moon. Earthbreaker Groon calmed things down by declaring he trusted the adventurers.[10]
After Bells Hells returned from their scouting mission, days later, they joined a meeting with Tofor, Keyleth and Qi, to share all the information they had obtained. Soon, they started planning their next step, and the adventurers' next mission to the Aeorian ruins of Eiselcross; Chetney Pock O'Pea, wanting to test these authority figures, complained about their hurry, and Tofor got angry, telling the old gnome that his group wasn't the only one facing dangers, and she narrated how in Tal'Dorei an entity known as Kaa'fourd had cause devastation in the Turst Fields. However, with the intermediation of Keyleth, tempers calmed down, and once it was clear that Bells Hells would participate in the mission, Tofor declared that the Exandrian Accord could provide funds, giving them 10,000 gold pieces when they asked for them.[11]
Tofor was mentioned as being present at the meeting of the Exandrian Accord in Vasselheim following the invasion of the Tishtan excavation site around the base of the Malleus Key by the Ruby Vanguard and the forces of Ruidus.[12] She was also a part of the smaller planning meeting the next morning in the Trial Forge.[13]
Relationships[]
Tiberius Stormwind[]
Due to the history of institutional and tail-based slavery in Draconia, Tofor had a negative attitude toward red dragonborn Tiberius Stormwind. In response, Tiberius took an insolent and demeaning attitude toward Tofor.
Allura Vysoren[]
Tofor has known and worked with the arcanist for decades. Despite this, there seem to be some tension between them, since they teased each other about their respective choices of adventurers to have as allies.[14]
