Thunder wasps are small insects that glow and are attracted to strong sounds.[2]
Description[]
When these insects gather in a hive they make it glow like an orb.[3]
History[]
In 843 PD, when Bells Hells went to the Fey Realm to reconnect with each other in order to work as a team in their next mission, one of them, Fresh Cut Grass, organized a scavenger hunt with the help of Morrigan the Fatestitcher, who, for one part of the event, provided a chamber with a narrow path above the void, and one glowing thunder wasp hive. The adventurers had to send three blinded volunteers that would have to walk the path guided only by their comrades' instructions, which couldn't be too loud unless they wanted to attract wasps.
Despite their best efforts, the three parts of the test weren't quiet enough, and the wasps attacked Chetney Pock O'Pea, Imogen Temult (who tried to use her Shock Flare against them, discovering they were immune to electricity), and Ashton Greymoore, making the latter fall into the void. Morri made him reappear, and although he attracted some more thunder wasps, the hag sent them away with ease. To compensate for the barbarian's failure Orym walked the path as well, and the process was quiet enough, so the wasps stayed in their hive.[4]
For the third trial, trust-themed, the adventurers were sent to the ruins of an eladrin city, and among the vegetation and the remains of buildings there were some thunder wasp hives, but they were undisturbed.[5]
