Appearance[]

Thrascuur is a seven-foot-tall,[3] elephantine person, with symbols of the crescent moon and a smaller, redder moon at the center of their forehead, wearing long, flowing white robes.[4] Their tusks are carved in ornate scrimshaw and finished in silver filigree.[5] When Thrascuur was sizing up the party utilizing magic, their dark eyes seemed to fill with stars and galaxies.[6]

Personality[]

Thrascuur was calm, serene, and wise. They mentioned that they had been told they were severe,[7] but was kind to the party, looking beyond Opal's occasional rudeness and giving them much information and knowledge to aid their quest. Thrascuur was concerned that if something was coming that would cause change, growth, destruction, or discovery for the city of Niirdal-Poc, that the city be remembered.[8]

Biography[]

Background[]

"The Gift Among the Green" (E1x06)[]

The Crown Keepers first met Thrascuur in the civic hall of Niirdal-Poc. They sought advice on the rune that created the plateau by the Flamereach Outpost, and Thrascuur explained to them how runes work. Fy'ra Rai worried that she was drawn to the party to protect them from the rising power of fire, and Thrascuur asked her what she really wanted. When Fy'ra said she wanted to see her family again, Thrascuur showed her a vision of her sister, alive and waiting for her to the far northwest of Emon.

Thrascuur then showed Opal a vision of her mother, and explained to her that her life and choices were her own. Fy'ra told Thrascuur that she believed Myr'atta Niselor was following Opal, and Thrasuur cast a spell on her that would protect them from Scrying. Thrascuur then gave Orym a seed, telling him to make it grow. The party asked if there was anything they could do for Thrascuur or the city, and Thrascuur asked the party to remember this place, whether it was meant for change, growth, or destruction.

When the rest of the party left the room, Fy'ra ran back and told the Tetrarch she feared one of the party was being drawn south for the wrong reasons. Thrascuur agreed, saying he was losing himself to the thrall of something great and terrible.

"Beyond the Heart City" (E1x07)[]

After staying the night in accommodation provided by the Tetrarch, the Crown Keepers were greeted in the morning by Thrascuur themselves. Thrascuur granted Opal their blessing, and with it five temporary hit points. They then provided the party with a map, some parting advice on directions and what to expect from the Iron Authority, then sent them on their way.

Quotations[]

  • "There is little for us to do here, but to reflect and decorate and create ourselves into that which we would be."[9]
  • "[Magic] is undifferentiated. It is not divine. It is not something wrought by man. It is not nature. It is whatever it needs to be. It is simply power. The decision, the deciding makes it a thing. [...] All of this place, all of Exandria, holds potential, holds energy, grabs it, takes it, makes it and gives it. But it is the decision of you reaching into a place, full and ripe, and deciding to bring something into being. That is the power that some call of the gods, that some call the arcane. It is power and it is beautiful."[10]
  • "Power is neither good, nor evil. It simply is."[11]
