Thaydeen's Endless Emporium of Enchanted Eccentricities is a magical shop in Rexxentrum. It is run by Dimble Thaydeen, and is one of the only stores in the city allowed to sell magical scrolls while remaining open to non-Assembly members.[1] It is located in Vigil's Circle, in the Tangles.[2]

Building Description[]

Exterior[]

Thaydeen's Endless Emporium of Enchanted Eccentricities is a windowless two-story building that looks like a "smaller amphitheater".[3] The cylindrical structure is surrounded by a deep maroon curtain of equal height that gently parts to reveal the entrance, where a beautifully painted sign and arched door greet possible patrons. Matt described the building as almost looking like a velvet cake.[4]

It was mentioned that the curtains have a gold rope trim,[5] though whether the trim extends along the edges of the entire curtain or only appears at the parting is unclear.

Interior[]

The inside of the store is filled with a large number of shelves covered with various trinkets, knickknacks and curiosities, though there are also numerous gaps along their surfaces. The sparsity of goods is a direct consequence of the war efforts of the Empire. It does not appear that Thaydeen consistently labels her wares.[6] The shelving directs patrons to the center of the "gaudy warehouse" [7] which houses a circular counter.

Entering the establishment triggers arcane music to begin to play.[8]

Trivia[]

  • It has been theorized that the shop's music is caused by a Magic Mouth spell.
  • The cast jokingly referred to the shop as a "magic Costco".[9]
