A teleportation tablet is a clay tablet that, when cracked in half, opens a portal to a specific teleportation circle to which it is keyed.
Description[]
Teleportation tablets are made of clay, 8 inches by 4 inches and half an inch thick. The sigil sequence for the target teleportation circle is inscribed on its surface. When broken in half, the tablet turns to dust, and if the target teleportation circle is on the same plane, a 10-foot-diameter portal like that created by the Teleportation Circle spell appears within 30 feet and lasts until the end of the user's next turn.[1]
History[]
In the adventure module Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep, two factions are seen to produce or have access to teleportation tablets: the Allegiance of Allsight and the Consortium of the Vermilion Dream.
Two characters in Bazzoxan have teleportation tablets keyed to destinations in Ank'Harel. Aloysia Telfan has three tablets, all with the sequence for a teleportation circle on the roof of the First Eclipse, a tavern the Consortium of the Vermilion Dream is using as a base.[2] Prolix Yusaf is also carrying a teleportation tablet, which opens a portal to the Teleportation Atrium of the Crystal Chateau, the headquarters of the Allegiance of Allsight.[3] Another tablet keyed to the First Eclipse is left behind in Cael Morrow by a panicking agent of the Consortium.[4]
The Allegiance of Allsight produces at least some of these tablets, most of which use the sigil sequence for the Atrium.[5]
