Tansul was the Shaper of humans[2] and the god of the sun in the fallen Obridimian Empire to the east of Kahad.
History[]
Fan art of the priests of flame serving Tansul, by Micaerys.[art 1]
In the Obridimian Empire, which worshiped Tansul,[3] House Halovar was a family of priests, second only to the Royal house of Obridimia[4] and serving as their right hand.[5] Tansul was seen as the source of the Light of the universe.[6]
In the Shapers' War, just as orcs created the Pariah Blades to kill their god Azgra, and elves created a special arrow to slay their god Sylandri, humans created powerful staves for spellcasters to wield against Tansul.[7] The god of the sun was killed, the heart of the Empire fell into eternal darkness, and his celestials went mad. House Halovar was almost destroyed because of their connections to the fallen Shaper.[8]
Seventy years after the war, Tansul is presented as a false god by the followers of the Candescent Creed;[9] this ultimately derives from the personal opinion of Photarch Yanessa Halovar, who was a young girl witnessing the consequences of the death of Tansul, and questioned if he was a god at all, given that mortals were able to destroy him.[10]
