"Talks Machina #129: 'From Door to Door'" (TMx129) is the one-hundred twenty-ninth episode of Talks Machina. Travis Willingham and Marisha Ray discuss "From Door to Door" (2x81) with host Brian Wayne Foster.
Synopsis[]
- Alex Douglas: Brian: After Mica Burton's fantastic appearance on Pub Draw, are you hoping that the beginning of UnDeadwood will be enough to save your job as host on Talks?
- Boffleslop: Both: Of late it appears the M9's first instinct is to run from a fight. Do they have a confidence problem or is it a more serious form of PTSD after their first encounter with the Laughing Hand?
- @Psyk0zap: Travis: After finally regaining the ability to cast magic after so long, was Fjord at all scared when he couldn't summon Star-Razor thanks to the golem's anti-magic cone?
- @EvHab: Marisha: You've said before that Beau has been jealous of the others for their magic and connections to higher beings. Did the fight with the golem help rid her of this anxiety seeing how helpless the other were without their access to magic?
- @MegWritesThings: Travis: Fjord's gotten to try out some new skills recently, like Divine Sense and the Star Razor's abilities, but he's also embraced Eldritch Blast and Control Water again. Do you think he's starting to feel comfortable blending his classes and skill sets?
- M_busuttil: Marisha: Without Yasha, Beau is the Mighty Nein's only tank. How does she feel about being alone on the front lines? Was it nice to have Jester tanking alongside her, or would she rather the squishier members of the Nein stay back?
- Cosplay of the Week: Twiggy by Pearl Bae (@Pearlbaecosplay) (photo by @Ivorivet)
- Jordan James Meyer: To both: Between both campaigns you switched between spellcasting and martial classes. (Marisha: Druid to Monk and Travis: Barbarian to Warlock). How did it feel to be in a dungeon that restricts magic use given this switch in play styles?
- @Wizardsimulator: Travis: What was going through your head during that watch when Matt described your thoughts and reflections? On Yasha, your friends, Caduceus, the way forward, the future?
- @OtherLaszlok: Marisha: How are you imagining it feels inside Beau's head having her Intelligence magically cranked up to 19? Considering she's already fairly smart, do you think the effect is significant enough to affect how she acts?
- @Galexycleric: Both: What do you think of your new golem companion? How long do you think he'll last?
- Archiver54: Travis: Fjord was quick to support Caleb's desire to construct the golem. Was he trying to make up for how the last trip into the Happy fun ball went, or was his decision driven by something else?
- @Kimabutch: Marisha: Beau seemed genuinely concerned about how the diadem would look on her until she realized she could twist it around. How is her identity as a person shaped by the way she presents to the world?
- Fan Art of the Week: 'Ghost Puncher' by Yeti aka @Yettinim
- @AstralSeaSiren: For both: We know you two love her, but what do Beau and Fjord think of Arcanist Allura Vysoren?
- @Walkalittleline: Travis: Fjord still seems a little unsure of what his new relationship with the Wildmother holds, will he continue to look to Caduceus for guidance or does he plan on waiting for her to tell him what she needs from him?
- @Heyitscena: Marisha: How does Beau feel about having her brain boosted by the circlet rather than her own studies and training? Is she at all self-conscious of the fact that she's being enlightened by magic, or is this just a new tool for her Exposit-ing and it's no biggie?
- Chris Gatlin: For both: With the time difference in the heirloom sphere, Traveler Con gets closer and closer. Are they at all worried about Jesters "cult"? Do you think Jester is being duped or do you trust what she believes in?
