"Talks Machina #126: 'Between the Lines'" (TMx126) is the one-hundred twenty-sixth episode of Talks Machina. Marisha Ray and Travis Willingham discuss "Between the Lines" (2x78) with host Brian Wayne Foster.

Synopsis[]

  • @Ourdivineashes: For Marisha: This was probably the strongest emotional reaction we've seen from Beau since Molly died. Is Beau surprised at her own concern for her family? Is she afraid of one part of her life being so close to a separate part?
  • @WickedPistons: Travis: What made you decide to take Paladin levels for Fjord? What other Classes were you considering?
  • Naomi Andrews: Marisha: We got a lot of Beau Lore this last episode. How did it feel to hear Beau's father for the first time?
  • Sageandginger: Travis: Fjord seemed drawn to the Wildmother even long before he had need of a new patron. What was it about her that make him decide on her so easily? Did he ever consider another god or entity?
  • Ariel VanZandt: Marisha: Had you already decided that Beau's dad was a superstitious dude or was that a spur of the moment decision?
  • @FonnGraenas: Travis: Fjord was already in deep water when he was with Uk'otoa but now, as a Paladin of the Wildmother, he is now against the Empire even more. How does Fjord feel now that he is worshiping an "illegal" religion?
  • Cosplay of the Week: Percy by Stiles aka @89stiles on Instagram (Photo by Weneals Photography)
  • @Tabenitor17: Marisha: Is Thoreau's encounter with the fortune teller tied to how Beau felt about Molly and/or why she took Molly's tarot cards when he died?
  • @Wizardsimulator: Travis: We haven't really gotten to see much Paladin action yet. How is Fjord settling into his new role? Does he intend to preform specific acts of service for the Wild Mother, or does he see things being business-as-usual?
  • Elizabeth Barrett: For both: After narrowly escaping with their lives after their last encounter with Obann and the Laughing Hand, how are Beau and Fjord feeling about following them into the Lotus Den?
  • @Whobox1: For Marisha: How does Beau feel about Yasha given that she's killed some of her people? Does Beau see this as an act that can't be redeemed?
  • @HappilyMacabre: Travis: Fjord is the least trusting of Yasha. Does he expect to have to kill her if they run into her again? Does he think she can be redeemed?
  • M_busuttil: Marisha: The Nein burnt Beau's reputation at the Cobalt Soul pretty hard this week. Does it bother Beau that, despite the progress she's made, the Soul will continue to see her as a disaster for a while longer?
  • Fan Art of the Week: Yasha by Sara J. Wimmer aka @violaswimmer
  • Alex Douglas: Travis: In the new character art we see Fjord's tusks have grown back to be visible. Is this because of Jester's encouragement to accept them as part of himself, Nott's struggle with her own appearance, or something else?
  • Tzorel: To Marisha: Getting banned from two Cobalt Soul archives over just a misunderstanding seems overly harsh. What's Beau's opinion on this punishment?
  • Scumbag_stormtrooper: Travis: What's it like now that you finally have a fancy magic sword that doesn't speak to you?
  • @MissSunFlowers94: Both: How did it feel (both for you and for your characters) going through the very first places you traveled as a Party?
  • @Fantasyqueereye: Marisha: Is there a reason Beau didn't say anything about her mother when dropping the Lionett lore?
  • @Bicalebwidogast: Travis: Fjord seemed really floored by Caleb's choice to share an important, possibly magic-related book with him. Was the book relevant to Fjord's Wildmother-paladin quest? What was it about?
