Sumalee Rachel Montano is an actress and voice-over artist. She first worked as an investment banking analyst before pursuing her career in the arts. Her mother is originally from the Philippines and her father from Thailand.[1]
Critical Role works[]
Sumalee guest starred as Nila in "Converging Fury" (2x27) and "Within the Nest" (2x28) of Campaign Two as well as in the "Guest Battle Royale" (Sx64) one shot, and provided the voice of Highbearer Vord in The Legend of Vox Machina, Season Two.
She also appeared as a guest alongside Taliesin Jaffe on Talks Machina in "Talks Machina #76: 'Converging Fury' and 'Within the Nest'" (TMx76). She explained the passive abilities in Dungeons & Dragons on the 11th episode of Handbooker Helper. She returned as Nila in the episode "Iron & Blood" for Crit Recap Animated and did an interview for "Critical Role Campaign 2 Wrap Up" (Sx56) to talk about her experience as Nila with the Mighty Nein.

For TV and film, Sumalee has appeared on Close to Home, Days of Our Lives, Nashville, Scandal, The Young and the Restless, This Is Us and Veep. As a voice actress, she has provided the voices of Pudding in the Space Channel 5 series, Katana on Beware the Batman, the President in Saints Row IV and Yuna in Ghost of Tsushima.

- Sumalee's ethnicity is a mix of Filipino, Thai, Chinese, and German. [1]
- The week before she guested on Critical Role, she and Dani Carr (they had just met) were watching the episode "Found & Lost" (2x26) backstage and were riveted by the action on the Glory Run Road. When Nott the Brave took 41 points of damage, they both screamed in terror and held each other for the rest of the fight.[2]
