The star spirits are spectral figures that appear on the surface of Lake Ywnnlas in the elven city of Syngorn at night, when the constellation of the Imprisoned is high in the sky. On these rare nights, the star spirits dance across the lake's surface, bright as starlight but casting no reflection. According to myth, the star spirits are under an ancient curse after betraying Sehanine, and can grant unlimited power to those who pledge their souls to them. These spirits, or the Imprisoned, can serve as warlock patrons.[1]

Trivia[]

  • In the same region where the star spirits manifest there is a type of fey with a similar name, the star sprites.[2][3]
  • Sirius, Zahra Hydris's warlock patron, resembles these star spirits in some respects, having the same theme connected to the moon and stars, and the same mechanical aspect as Great Old One.[4]
