The Sorrowseep Waters are one of two significant lakes (the other being the Fevergulf Lake) in the central wastes of Xhorhas. It is connected to the Emerald Gulch by the Ifolon River, and the Seepfeed River runs through the Vermaloc Wildwood, meeting the Penumbra Range. It is surrounded by a marshland by the same name.[1]
In addition to its ecosystem, full of various wetland creatures, moorbounders, and abundant vegetation, the Sorrowseep is a source of many rumors and myths. The lake is said to be the home to apocryphal creatures which hunters and fishers often pursue; the unnaturally crisp and clean waters are said to have restorative properties and are meanwhile collected by adventurers and healers; and the dense vegetation towards the bottom of the lake, known as the Tanglebed, obscures the depths of the lake. Some believe there is an unknown, ancient being sleeping beneath the Tanglebed which may be behind the unique ecosystem and special waters.
