Skiraths are monstrosities that hunt the skies of the Hellcatch Valley in Marquet.
Description[]
Skiraths are large, manta ray-like creatures with light colored skin on their undersides to camouflage them from prey on the ground. Their skin is dark on the top and covered with barbs, and they have a long stinger tail. Skiraths have one large dark eye on their faces.[2]
Skirath meat is edible, but it is commonly known that it must be cooked thoroughly.[3]
Abilities[]
The skirath have an armor class of 18.[4] In addition:
- Aerodynamic: Ranged attacks against the skirath are made with disadvantage, as it manipulates the wind around it.[5]
- Aerial Slam: If the skirath moves before ramming a target, the target takes bludgeoning damage and must make a Strength saving throw or be knocked 20 feet away.[6]
- Skin Barbs (recharging on 5 or 6): Skirath fires its barbs in 10-foot radius around itself. Targets must make a Dexterity saving throw against piercing damage, taking half as much damage on a success.[7]
- Tail Spear: Deals piercing damage. The target must make a Constitution saving throw, taking poison damage and becoming poisoned on a failure, or taking half damage and saving against the poisoned condition on a success. Poisoned creatures can repeat the save to end the effect at the end of each of their turns.[8]
History[]
While traveling onboard the Silver Sun from Jrusar to Bassuras, Bells Hells encountered two skiraths, who attacked the ship. The party was able to kill the creatures, and Chetney harvested the poison from one skirath's tail barb.[9]
