Seedfeld is a gnomish town of Zemnian origin in the Demithore Valley of Issylra.

It is just a day or two's walk from Spectrum Gorge.

Description[]

Seedfeld is a farming village with houses that look smaller than usual, given the high population of short humanoids.

Points of interest[]

  • Oogleberg/Ügelberg - The name given by the locals to a very steep nearby mountain, in honor of the troll who used to live on it, Oogle/Ügel.[1] It became a caldera after the Re-Slayers defeated the undead troll inside and destroyed its lair.[2]

Society[]

Notable people[]

  • Mega Magical Paladins, a group of five warriors using color-coded armor and magic daggers
    • Zora the Red, the leader, who wields the fire dagger
    • Annika the Yellow, who wields the lightning dagger
    • Finn the Green, who wields the nature dagger
    • Linus the Blue, who wields the blue dagger
    • Tobi the Pink, who wields the wind dagger
    • Norbert Klott, a local warrior and trainer, who wields the white dagger

History[]

The population of this village is Zemnian in origin, with the original settlers fleeing Wildemount when the Marrow War started.[3] For generations they lived in Seedfeld in peace, with the only remarkable conflict being the presence of a troll in a mountain nearby, until it was killed by the Slayer's Take.

Around 839 PD[4][5] a strange yellow cloud appeared above the hamlet, blocking the sun and ruining the crops, causing a lot of people to leave. Only the Mega Magical Paladins and Norbert stayed, and the latter ended up taking care of the group of warrior after they entered some sort of trance, being stuck doing only one task. When the Re-Slayer's Take arrived to Seedfeld they offered Norbert to help him save the town, and he guided them to the cave in Ügelberg, which had a strange yellow glow coming out of it;[6] in the meantime Poogs stayed behind, defending the town when the wind gibbons visited it again.[7]

After Norbert and his new friends reached Ügel's chamber and destroyed its undead remains, they decided to destroy the lair too with the combined power of the Mega Magic Paladins' daggers, and this caused the collapse of the mountain. As that happened, the yellow gas dispersed, and the cloud that had been blocking the sun over Seedfeld disappeared;[8] the success of the adventurers was celebrated, and Norbert became an official member of the Mega Magic Paladins as a reward, receiving the secret white dagger.[9]

Trivia[]

  • Although Zemnian culture is mostly tied to Wildemount and the Zemni Fields, Seedfeld is constantly being called Zemnian despite being in Issylra, their inhabitants have the distinctive German accent (which is our world's inspiration for Zemnian), and even its name has ties to the language, with the last part, feld, meaning "field", a reference to its agricultural tradition.
    • George Primavera confirmed in Beacon that this village was founded by immigrants who left Wildemount to avoid the war, and eventually settled in Issylra. Given its current gnome population it is likely that many of those immigrants were of gnomish ancestry too, and even that they chose the new continent because of their historical ties with it.[10]
    • Nick Williams compared Seedfeld to Solvang, a city in California with historical ties to Denmark that still preserves signs of Danish culture today.
  • The defenders of this town are a reference to the Power Rangers.
    • Their daggers can only be activated through intense poses, just like the Power Rangers, and mechanically work as +1 weapons that also offer an additional 1d4 to add to any attack or saving throw made by their wielders,[11] and additional elemental effects.[12]
  • Given the abundance of cave fishers in the area they have become part of the local gastronomy.[13]
