Scrag was a gargantuan vidulch which was the mount of Sunder King Ozo Cruth.
Description[]
Unlike most vidulches, Scrag is winged and can fly, bearing a rider on its back. It has numerous claws and was outfitted with massive barding and a saddle.[4]
In battle, Scrag's armor-like carapace opened, producing discordant music-like tones.[5]
History[]
The Dominion of Cruth has vidulchlords in its ranks who control these creatures,[6] and among their ranks is the Sunder King himself, Ozo Cruth,[7] who is bonded with Scrag.
The gargantuan vidulch traveled to Exandria with its rider to defend the Malleus Key. They faced Vox Machina together, and although it was blinded and poisoned at one point, Scrag kept fighting, destroying the Harbinger, a celestial raven summoned by Lieve'tel Toluse.[8] Eventually Scanlan Shorthalt used Dominate Monster to take control of the vidulch and force it to attack Ozo, although he managed to block its mandibles when it did; when the Sunder King was killed, both Vorak (a bane worm that would be killed shortly after) and Scrag screamed, feeling the loss of their master.[9] In the last part of the battle, Scanlan ordered Scrag to attack [[Vithe Weave Mind attempted to free Scrag of Scanlan's control, but the bard Counterspelled their attempt.[10] Once the fight was over and the vidulch was no longer dangerous to the party, Scanlan forced it to go out into the Hellcatch Valley so they wouldn't have to kill it.[11]
