The Scarbearers are the most notable mercenary group operating from the city of Ank'Harel, named after the scars its founders showed to J'mon Sa Ord as a sign of their dedication to the city.[1]

Description[]

Occupying an honorable place in Marquesian society, the Scarbearers profess to be a guild that respects honor and guidelines, but in reality often behave like bullying thugs out for a paycheck. They frequently take high-profile contracts as bodyguards for diplomats or to protect caravans and expeditions venturing into the desert.[1]

In addition to their mercenary work, the Scarbearers also supervise the regular sports tournaments taking place in the Bowl of Judgement, highlighted by the annual Grand Tournament.[2]

Treev Bonebreaker, one of the guild's operatives, introduced Vox Machina to the enchanter Kyme, one of the Scarbearers' allies within the Omnival Library.[3]

History[]

Campaign One: Vox Machina[]

Vox Machina, in their search for the Vestiges of the Divergence, approached Treev Bonebreaker asking for help finding another member of the guild, Mistress Asharru[4] who possessed Cabal's Ruin.
