Lord Robert Sharpe is one of the lords of Nicodranas and a former long-time client of Marion Lavorre. He drove Marion's daughter Jester Lavorre out of Nicodranas after she humiliated him by pretendeding to be Marion and locking him on a balcony in nothing but a girdle.

As an NPC, he is played by Matthew Mercer.

Description[]

Appearance[]

Lord Sharpe is a human male in his late 50s with a thin, "creepy" mustache and a receding hairline. He appears to be desperately trying to cling his youth, which only results in him looking "far older".[1] In his appearance in The Mighty Nein Origins: Jester Lavorre, he is depicted with black hair, bright blue eyes, and a thin beard.[2] He dresses well in expensive clothing, even at home.[1][3]

Personality[]

Lord Sharpe is self-assured and fancies himself as a lady's man, but he comes off as more aggressive and creepy than debonair and fails to notice when his advances are not welcomed.[1] He was described as "a prick" by Marion Lavorre.[4] His pride is important to him,[5] to the point that he vowed to have Jester Lavorre killed after she humiliated him and maintained this even after she had left the city for months.[6][5]

Biography[]

Background[]

Lord Robert Sharpe is one of the more powerful lords in Nicodranas[7] and is a smuggler working with the Revelry to transport weapons, Dwendalian wine, jewelry, and jewels out of the Menagerie Coast.[2] He describes himself as "one of the many figureheads here of what business goes about successfully within Nicodranas".[1]

Artagan's bad portrayal - Artagan

He had been a client of Marion, the Ruby of the Sea, for over a decade, but apparently unknown to him, Marion kept him as a client because she was working with the local guilds to build evidence of his relationship with the Revelry.[2] Shortly before the events of Campaign Two, Jester discovered that he was a smuggler. She used Disguise Self to appear to be Marion and instructed him to take his clothes off and wait for her on the balcony. When he did so wearing nothing but a girdle and other fancy underwear, she shouted for the street's attention and locked him out. Due to the danger posed by his connections within the city and with the Revelry, Marion urged Jester to flee Nicodranas immediately for her safety. He swore to have Jester killed in relation for the humiliation.[6][2]

This did not affect Marion, who was too well-connected herself and too uninvolved in the incident to be targeted as well, but she struggled to have the vendetta dropped.[5] By several months later, Sharp was no longer a recurring client of Marion's.[4][8]

He has a son named Barnabas, who is about Jester's age. He appears to think well of his son, describing him as "sweet".[2]

Lord Robert Sharpe - Kileigh Gallagher

Sharpe attended the party held by Marquis Zhafe Uludan at the Marquis Demesne for Dwendalian diplomats and other figures attending peace talks with the Kryn Dynasty.[7] Jester spotted him at the party greeting her mother with a kiss on the hand. Though Jester initially hid behind Fjord, she revealed herself when Sharpe approached the group and made unwelcome advances on Yasha Nydoorin, who struggled to handle him. She defended Yasha and, when Sharpe insinuated a threat against Jester, cast Charm Person on him. She sent him onto a balcony to retrieve a fictional glove for her, locking the door behind him. Veth Brenatto used the Dagger of Denial to permanently seal the door.[1] Later in the night, Fjord and Beauregard Lionett searched for the rest of the group by the balcony. Sharpe requested their help, pretending to be one of their party, but they did not believe him and left.[9]

He had not spoken to Marion in the weeks after the party, though this was not unusual as he was no longer a client.[8] When Jester spied on him through Scrying, he was reading in his study, though it seemed he was not sleeping well lately.[3]
