Ressia Uvesic is the elven Scribewarden of the Vellum Steeple Archive in Uthodurn. As an NPC, Ressia Uvesic is played by Matthew Mercer.
Description[]
Appearance[]
Ressia Uvesic is a very tall, pale-skinned elven woman with a platinum blond pompadour that is short in the back but billowing in the front, and bright blue piercing eyes.[1] In 843 PD, she was described as middle aged and slightly androgynous, very Tilda Swinton-esque.[2]
Biography[]
The Mighty Nein encountered Ressia several times. She was reserved, but welcoming to Reani, whom she recognized. She helped the party find books on their requested subjects, but when Beauregard Lionett tried to use her Cobalt Soul connection to avoid or reduce the fees charged, Ressia requested information in trade, pointing out that this library was a business, unlike the Cobalt Soul.[3] When Caleb Widogast noticed a page in his book that appeared to be a magical container, he and Nott created a distraction so he could steal it, where Nott shot Caleb with her crossbow, horrifying Ressia and getting them both banned from the Steeple thereafter.[4] Later, Beau returned with 300 gold and an apology. She was then able to negotiate permanent access to the Steeple's teleportation circle in return for 2000 gold and Reani's promise to return to the ruins of Molaesmyr for six months in search of artifacts.[5] The party utilized their agreement later that day.[6]
The Mighty Nein returned a few days later through the teleportation circle, causing some damage with their entrance, but Ressia mentioned their patronage was appreciated before sending them on their way, appearing to be heavily influenced by the size of the payment received.[7] When the party returned with the full Clay family some weeks later, again causing damage with their arrival, she was far less gracious.[8]
Part of Bells Hells, along with Deanna Leimert and F.R.I.D.A., met Ressia when they were seeking information about the aftereffects of the Apogee Solstice. She was reserved and slightly haughty, as well as frazzled and nervous because the sudden failure of many aspects of magic, but shared what she knew about the situation with the party. They reciprocated with their own knowledge, and in trade, requested Ressia research Ludinus Da'leth. She agreed to assign someone to it.[9]
