Rauwyn, the Trickster, was a halfling goddess of trickery in Aramán.

History[]

Background[]

Rauwyn was one of the seven Shapers. She created the halflings and presumably an afterlife for their souls, which were guided there by Olbalad, the Sister of Mists, her celestial.[3]

When the Shapers' War started, Rauwyn and the other Shapers chose to side with the god of conquest, Azgra, after the orcs challenged him, which led to many mortals antagonizing the deities as well.[4] The halflings created "the Panto",[5] a number of sentient masks used in a play intended to kill their goddess with the force of the performance alone.[6][7] One of these masks was Bolaire Lathalia, which was created only two days before Rauwyn's death and witnessed her destruction[8] in a sacred theater; according to him, the resulting explosion when the deity died left little to no evidence of what exactly caused her death, and not everyone is aware of the masks involved.[9] By the end of the conflict, seventy years before Campaign Four, the entire pantheon was gone,[10] although some ancient temples of the Trickster still remain.[2]

Appearances and mentions[]

Trivia[]

  • In temples of Rauwyn there were plates and tapestries hanging all around for people to read, like a giant storybook.[2]
