Quicklings are tiny fey creatures with the ability to move astonishingly fast.

Appearance[]

A quickling is a small, slender fey with sharp, feral features. It has cold, cruel eyes, and a mischievous nature that delights in playing pranks and causing trouble for which others get the blame.[1] Tevas, a quickling encountered by the Mighty Nein, stood about two-and-a-half feet tall, and looked like a weird elf-goblin hybrid with lithe, long limbs, pointed ears, and a dull gray skin. It wore a very faint bit of tattered clothing, had no hair, knife-looking teeth, and its eyes were mostly white with a very, very faint pupil. It looked creepy but also weirdly pretty in some ways.[2]

Abilities[]

The following is drawn from Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse,[1] but some abilities have been demonstrated onstream.

  • Blurred Movement: Attacks against it are at disadvantage unless it is incapacitated or restrained.
  • Evasion: If an effect calls for a Dexterity saving throw to halve the damage, the quickling takes no damage on a success and half damage on a failure.
  • Multiattack: Quicklings make three attacks with a dagger.

History[]

Quicklings are an integral part of the message delivery service of the Feywild.[3]

Jester Lavorre summoned Tevas, a quickling, via Planar Ally to deliver a dozen black moss cupcakes to Isharnai, a hag. She gave him a cupcake for himself in payment.[4]

Bells Hells encountered a quickling-like creature in the area Morrigan the Fate Stitcher created for their team-building exercises, that snatched the branch they were searching for from them and dashed off, being quickly killed thereafter.[5]
