Quanikkas (pronounced /ˈkwɒnɪkə/) are one of the sentient species of Ruidus, displaying some telepathic abilities like the reilora.

Description[]

They are about 8 feet tall, very thin, bipedal, with claws on fingers and toes. Their bodies are covered in grey and white fur that turns completely white with age,[1] and tusks that can grow either straight, curved, or both.[2]

History[]

It is unknown if this race share the same creation myths as the reilora and the bormodos, but at some point they became part of the Imperium, as one was part of the group of soldiers for the Dominion of Cruth manning an outpost of Kreviris.[3]

In 843 PD, as Bells Hells were approaching Kreviris, the capital of the Imperium, they for the first time encountered quanikkas working various positions.[4] A third one, Amido, helped them meet the leader of the Volition.[5] The adventurers, however, didn't learn what the creatures were until Chetney, tired of the situation, bluntly asked the rebel Sheean, who finally identified the quanikka people.[6]

Trivia[]

  • At least one quanikka Bells Hells have met manifested the ability to speak both mentally and verbally.[10]
    • When Ira cast Seeming on his team for a mission, however, he chose forms that weren't expected to communicate telepathically, including a quanikka for Ashton,[11] which indicates that either this race doesn't normally have that power, or they don't rely on it.
  • Despite being completely covered in fur, as they get old they can lose hair and become partially bald.[12]
