Phaestor is the Grand Legate of Vulkanon, a city-state of fire giants beneath the Cliffkeep Mountains.[1]
He has not appeared in Critical Role.
Biography[]
Phaestor has ruled Vulkanon for a long time, and if rumourand if the rumors are to be believed, he is the wielder of the Pyremaul, one of the Vestiges of Divergence.[1]
Under his command, the fire giants have formed alliances with the duergar of the Emberhold to create magnificent new weapons. In 836 PD the Grand Legate hoped to fulfill his long dreamed expansion of his empire by taking advantage of those connections and alliances, although it is unclear if he aspires to attack the surface world or to fight underwordly aberrations such as the aboleths of Salar.[2]

- His name seems to derive from Hephaestus, the name of the Greek god of fire and metallurgy.
- It is unknown if Phaestor represents his people in the Council of Seven Scepters or if he sends someone to represent him.
- He might be related to Suthine, Eternal Princess of Vulkanon, if they are part of the same ruling family of the city-state.
