Perigee is a deva who serves the Moonweaver and acted as an ally of the Apotheon during the Calamity.

Description[]

Appearance[]

Perigee has, as an angel, a pair of feathery white wings. She is of an athletic build, with light blue skin, blonde hair, leather sandals, a simple gold-colored dress, and bracers of a similar hue. She adorns herself with silver jewelry, including large earrings bearing the Moonweaver's symbol. She is armed with a silver mace.

Due to corruption by ruidium during her stay in the Netherdeep, Perigee has veins of the red substance running down her arms and face, and her eyes glow with the same crimson hue.[3]

Personality[]

Perigee is a brave and loyal angel who faced many enemies helping the Apotheon in battle and obeying her goddess' commands; she is also confident in her own fighting skills, although recognizing when someone has bested her. After being destroyed and re-formed she maintained that loyalty to her ally looking for him in Exandria.[3]

Perigee by PleasantSaladNerd

Perigee was one of the many celestials that battled during the Calamity against the forces of the Betrayer Gods. At some point after her goddess, Sehanine, gave her blessing to Alyxian, the deva became an ally of the hero.[2]

When the Ruiner attacked Cael Morrow in Marquet, Perigee was there and fought with Alyxian, but she was destroyed in that battle even before her mortal ally was hit by the god's spear.[4]

After Perigee re-formed at Sehanine's side she spent centuries looking for Alyxian until she found her way to the Netherdeep, where she was trapped by its corrupting influence. Mired in despair, she stayed as a sort of protector of her mortal ally, being willing to attack those that she considers to be bothering the Apotheon's dreams. However, she still retains some reason, and can be persuaded to let those who can help the prisoner and creator of the Netherdeep pass, although the angel's impulse is still to attack intruders, and considers that those who are unable to defeat her don't stand a chance against Alyxian.[2]

If Perigee were defeated or if the Netherdeep was destroyed, she could return to the Moonweaver's side free of the ruidium's corruption,[2] being available for new missions ordered by her goddess connected to Alyxian.[5]

Character information[]

Abilities[]

As a deva, Perigee is able to change shape, appearing as a humanoid if she so desires. She also has healing abilities. As an angel, she can also use her wings to fly.[1] Additionally, she's a talented warrior who fought in the Calamity.[2]

Trivia[]

  • Perigee's name is a reference to the closest point to a planet in the orbit of a satellite, which makes sense being the angel of a moon goddess.
    • Having astronomical connotations in her name is a trait she shares with Eclipse, another deva and servant of Pelor who chose that name for himself.[6]
  • She's the first (and so far only) known angel to have been destroyed and re-formed.
