A pegasus (plural: pegasi[1]) is an intelligent celestial horse with feathered wings.
Description[]
Although no pegasus has been specifically described in Critical Role media, one typically appears in Dungeons & Dragons as a white horse with wings. They are typically shy and cannot be tamed, but they can be persuaded to serve a good-aligned creature as a mount, forming a lifelong bond.[2] However, the city of Ezordam-Haar in the evil, militaristic Iron Authority apparently serves as a breeding ground for red pegasi.[1]
Abilities[]
The following is taken from the Monster Manual, 5th Edition, p. 250.
- Saving throw proficiencies: DEX, WIS, CHA
- Skill expertise: Perception
- Actions:
- Hooves: An attack dealing bludgeoning damage.
History[]
- On the eve of the Calamity, after Zerxus Ilerez exited on his mount, Tempus,[3] Loquatius Seelie recounted the event to friends, saying, "Then he just got on his pegasus, or whatever it is called, and then flew away."[4] Tempus was a relatively intelligent celestial version of a griffon, a different winged mythological creature.
- By 812 PD, the Iron Authority city of Ezordam-Haar is known as the "eyrie of the red pegasi."[1] The Iron Authority is an evil, principally hobgoblin empire under the sway of Bane, the Strife Emperor.
