The Outerwalk is a major road leading from Othanzia in the northeastern part of Issylra southward through the Demithore Valley, Hearthdell, and Endovaar.[1]
Description[]
Midway between Hearthdell and Endovaar is a fork with a long-disused road branching to the north and the remains of a long-unused gallows. The road leading northward from this point is heavily overgrown and being retaken by the surrounding forest, in contrast to the main road going eastward to Hearthdell from Endovaar, at least a full day's travel on foot from each other.[2]
History[]
The crumbling gallows on the Outerwalk between Hearthdell and Endovaar is surrounded by multiple uncarved gravestones marking the final resting places of members of the Valley Coalition that were once executed there.[3] It was built about 150-200 years earlier to punish those who broke the laws of the Coalition.[4] It is said that one of the criminals who died on the location cursed it before he died, and even today, although now in disuse, the crossroads is surrounded by superstition.[5]
