Othinon is an old dwarven man who lives in Whitestone and keeps the Altar of the Raven clean. As an NPC, Othinon is played by Matthew Mercer.
Description[]
Othinon was an older dwarf, without hair or beard.[1] He had a winding scar going from his nose to one side of his mouth, and looked weathered by his experiences.[2] He had a relaxed attitude around death, and appreciated tips.
History[]
Othinon lived for centuries, and around 833 PD he decided to move to Whitestone.[3] He got a job as a caretaker in the Greyfield, and he spent a lot of time in the basement of the Altar of the Raven, even snacking on one of the sarcophagi there.[4]
In 843 PD Ashton Greymoore, Orym, and Chetney Pock O'Pea visited the basement and met Othinon, who joked with them and, when he was asked, allowed them to use two sarcophagi to try and commune with the Matron of Death. The adventurers managed to do so, and they left a few minutes later, giving some silver to the tombkeeper, which caused him to dedicate blessings to them in the name of the Raven Queen.[5] The following day Fearne Calloway visited the temple too, and when she was leaving she briefly encountered a figure that might have been Othinon.[6]
