The Onyx Banner is the most powerful shipping guild operating in Emon. They have frequent feuds with the Everline, a powerful fisherfolk's guild, over use and taxation of the docks in the Port of Emon.[1] By 836 PD it was an open secret that both guilds paid well to hire mercenaries and adventurers to damage each other's property.[2]
