Oma-Dua was a powerful Gau Drashari who lived in the Irriam Canyon in Issylra. She has been mentioned but not appeared in Critical Role.

Biography[]

A long time ago Oma-Dua, a member of the Gau Drashari, lived in the Demithore Valley in Issylra. She became the enemy of Evithorir, a dark fey entity known as "the Taker", a thief of essence and natural magic. The two of them fought against each other and eventually the archdruid managed to seal Evithorir beneath the rock of Cofferfall Hill.[1]

Oma-Dua was weakened by the Taker's mortal curse, and since she couldn't lift it, she spent the rest of her years transmitting her teachings to others and protecting the Irriam Canyon. When she died, a shrine-like tomb was constructed in that place, inside a cave.[2]

Legacy[]

Even after death, part of Oma-Dua's spirit endured thanks to her connection to the local elemental spirits, acting as a guardian.[3] Her tomb, the Emerald Tree, became a fane of power for the surrounding region, being protected by a druidic circle that was able to communicate with her.[4]

In 843 PD, the powerful magic of the apogee solstice caused Evithorir to be freed, and they attacked the shrine of the Emerald Tree, decimating the guardians of the place and possessing their leader, the archdruid Hevestro; however, he was freed by a group of adventurers.[5] When one of them, Ashton Greymoore, asked for permission to take a fragment of the crystalline formations from the cave, Oma-Dua communicated her consent through Hevestro.[6]

Appearances and mentions[]

Trivia[]

  • Since it is unknown when the Gau Drashari became the Ashari, it is difficult to determine when Oma-Dua lived. However, it is known that this group already existed during the Age of Arcanum and the beginnings of the Calamity.
