Olara is a sea elf barkeep who survived the destruction of Cael Morrow during the Calamity and still lived there more than eight centuries later.
Description[]
Appearance[]
Olara has blue skin and long, white hair.[1]
Personality[]
While her memories have been damaged by decades spent near the rift to the Netherdeep and the Alyxian Aboleth, Olara has a cheerful disposition.[1]
Biography[]
Background[]
During the Calamity, Olara once served wine to Alyxian (the human champion, not the confused aboleth), though she doesn't remember that unless the curse that clouds her mind is lifted or the aboleth is killed. She is one of the few mortals who survived Gruumsh's attack on Cael Morrow. She eats the kelp that grows throughout Cael Morrow. Archaeologists from the Allegiance of Allsight have attempted to interact with her but, finding her neither helpful nor hostile, decided to leave her be.[2]
Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep[]
In or shortly after 836 PD, Olara can be encountered in Cael Morrow, still tending bar at the Last Willow Tavern, apparently oblivious to what brought about her current situation. If her mind is cleared, she can recall a memory of Alyxian.[2]
Character information[]
Notable items[]
- Three bottles of pre-Divergence wine[1]
- Five potions of healing[3]
- Two potions of heroism[3]
Abilities[]
Olara has the traits (multiattack, skill proficiencies) and basic equipment (leather armor, shortsword, longbow) of a typical scout from the Monster Manual, plus several traits native to sea elves: amphibiousness, a swimming speed equal to her walking speed, darkvision, resistance to cold damage, advantage on saving throws to end the charmed condition on herself, and an immunity to magic that would put her to sleep.[1]
