The Obridimian Empire was an ancient and mighty political unit of Aramán that fell into ruin when Tansul, Shaper of the Sun, was destroyed and the realm fell into eternal shadow.[3]
Location[]
This Empire was located to the east of Kahad.[4]
Venatus and the Eternal Night Barrowdell are located on the eastern side of the Kavros Mountains.[5]

The Obridimian Empire had a royal family to which House Halovar acted as the right hand, being priests of flame and worshipers of Tansul, god of the sun.[8]
House Tachonis was also a family of priests there, although more focused on shadows, the journey through night to the next day, gifted with the rites of funeral cremation and of moving from one realm to the other.[9][10]
Obridimian nobility in general was remarkable because of their magical inclinations, one of the reasons why the Empire was the greatest power on the continent, and why even after its fall those same families were able to prosper elsewhere.[11]
History[]
The language of the ancient Obridimians was Celestial.[12] Before they were an empire, the original nation was known as "Obridimia", in the far east,[13] and it was where their royal house originated from.[14]
When Tansul was killed during the Shapers' War, the light of the Obridimian Empire vanished and the nation fell into shadow.[15] The priests connected to the fallen Shaper had to flee, since many saw them as enemies.[16]
Seventy years later, the lands where the heart of the Empire used to be are seen as being in eternal darkness, where lands shrivel, crops fail, and an entire people was dispossessed.[17][18]
Trivia[]
- The Obridimian Empire could be inspired by Ancient Egypt, with their royal family, a strong worship to a sun god who walked among mortals, and extremely powerful priesthood connected to both the sun and the afterlife.
- Under that parallelism, the cultural survival of the cult of the Light as the Candescent Creed could be inspired by the Amarna Period, during which the traditional religion was altered to become more focused on the source of light (Aten, the sun disc) rather than following more popular and traditional deities.
- The name of the seat of House Tachonis in Dol-Makjar, Obrimus Manor,[19] bears some resemblance to the name of the fallen Empire.
