Nathan Fillion is a Canadian and American actor best known for his roles in television as Richard Castle on the ABC series Castle, Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds in Firefly and more recently as John Nolan in The Rookie and The Rookie: Feds.
In video games, Nathan is best known for having voiced characters such as Cayde-6 in the Destiny franchise, and the Gunnery Sergeant, later Spartan Edward Buck in Halo3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and in Halo 5: Guardians, alongside Laura Bailey for the latter.[2]

Nathan attended the University of Alberta as a member of the Kappa Alpha Society but didn't graduate. He moved to New York City in 1994 and in 1997, he received U.S. citizenship. He later moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career in various projects in films and television series.[1]
