Nalfeshnees are a grotesque winged cross between an ape and a boar. Standing about 13 feet tall, they are covered in dark fur and have long clawed arms, hooved feet, and wide jaws with massive tusks and teeth. Their small feathered wings appear much too small to support their bloated, full-bellied bodies. However, their brutish appearance disguises a high intelligence in addition to strength and stamina.[2][5]
Nalfeshnees typically fly above a battlefield, telepathically transmitting orders to those they command, swooping down to dispatch the weak or frighten their enemies, and teleporting out of danger.[2]

Near the end of the Era of Reclamation in 843 PD, Bells Hells encountered Extovass, the leader of the demon invaders of the Iridon Bastion in the Grey Valley of Tal'Dorei, while searching for blue perennem flowers to cure Keyleth's wounds. Extovass was eventually killed by Fearne Calloway.[7]
