Morrighan Ferus is a lagomore paladin and Champion of the Matron of Ravens, formerly a bartender and rogue. She is played by Erica Lindbeck.
Description[]
Appearance[]

Official art of Morrighan's showgirl outfit, by Hannah Friederichs.[art 2]
Morrighan is "a really cute bunny girl" standing about 5'10", with bright green eyes and grey bunny ears. When first seen working the bar at The Maiden's Wish casino she was wearing a feathered showgirl outfit,[5] but later wore traditional rogue attire.[6]
Personality[]
During her time in Kymal Mor had a slightly rehearsed demeanor, constantly acting surprised, although appearing more genuine when she gained trust with people. After joining the Crown Keepers and becoming the champion of the Matron of Ravens, she felt somewhat more comfortable around her friends, although when it came to her purpose she blindly trusted the goddess; if the situation she faced did not have a clear solution, she would turn to the Raven Queen to tell her what to do.
Biography[]
Background[]
Morrighan was born in the Feywild and entered the Material Plane with help from an old woman named Morrigan[7], to live and grow up in Kymal[8] for the past twenty-six years.[9] She had been a bartender (among other things) for about three years[10] but had only been working at The Maiden's Wish for a few weeks when encountered by the Crown Keepers.[11] Her modus operandi was to work at a casino, siphon off what cash she could, and then after a while move to the next one before they were even aware of what had happened.[12]
"Exandria Unlimited: Kymal, Part 1" (E2x01)[]
Morrighan was becoming convinced that if she remained in Kymal, she would die. She joined the Crown Keepers for a heist targeting The Maiden's Wish since since they both needed to make a lot of cash quickly. She then realized that when she began talking to them, the birdsong that guides her life had grown louder.[13] Mor suggested searching for the blueprints of the casino in the penthouse of actor Phaedrov Krishtan, the nephew of the owner. After her attempt to obtain its key from Phaedrov failed, she joined the group at the penthouse when their and activities attracted the attention of the guards within and a fight ensued. After the guards were killed, the group located and studied the blueprints.
"Exandria Unlimited: Kymal, Part 2" (E2x02)[]
During the subsequent heist of the vault of the Maiden's Wish, Morrighan's mental birdsong grew even louder once she stepped inside, inviting her toward the eastern edge of the chamber into a little darkened corner.[14] There, Mor found a bas-relief of a human feminine face made of pristine white marble, wearing something that closely resembled a mask. There were intricate carvings of feathers extending out and away from the edges of the face. Underneath, looking at the name, Morrighan felt almost sickened, her vision blurred and she was not able to perceive anything. Her attempts to put aside the bust only intensified the raven's cawing, calling her to smash and destroy it. To the deafening noise, she began crushing the piece with the help of Dariax and Fy'ra Rai, making it unrecognizable and finally interrupting the cawing.
At the end, as the group escaped with 50,000 gold on the hovering Brumestone platform, a single raven landed near Morrighan, as if something great and terrible approved her actions that day.
"Broken Roads" (3x92)[]
Morrighan, in the following days after leaving Kymal, became an actual member of the Crown Keepers, and while they were still floating in the bar, she had a meaningful conversation with Opal, bonding over their common connection with divinity. In the following days, the until then arcane trickster became more dedicated to the Matron of Ravens, becoming a full paladin. After the apogee solstice she could feel her goddess' nervousness, and despite her own fear of facing a threat too strong for her, she was ready to prove herself.
The threat ended up being Opal, who after a long time dealing with the Spider Queen's influence lost control of her own body and attacked the group. Morrighan Hasted herself and used her Vow of Enmity to strike back almost instinctively, but she was blocked by Ted, who came out of her sister's body to defend her. She felt bad for attacking her friend so easily, but shortly after healing Fy'ra with Lay On Hands she realized that the many gemstones that had appeared around Opal when she lost control were actually physical representations of her memories and connections; when the paladin touched one, she saw a vision of her conversation with the warlock days before. Morrighan told her friends to protect the gems, since some spiders summoned by Lolth were trying to destroy them.
"Bittersweet Reunions" (3x93)[]
As the battle against Opal continued, Morrighan focused on the spiders, attacking them with her rapier, and even spitting back the poison one of the arachnids threw in her face. Using the blood of one of her enemies and her own, the lagomore communed with the Matron of Ravens to ask for guidance, and although the goddess took the time to show her what scared Lolth so much (Predathos), she told her paladin she should run, since she wasn't supposed to die in that fight. Shortly after Opal attacked Mor herself using her three sets of arms: she stopped her own hands so that her daggers wouldn't touch her friend, but both Ted and the Spider Queen hit, and the latter poisoned Morrighan. Opal then tried to use Banishing Smite to send Mor away so she wouldn't get hurt, but her spell failed.

After one of the spiders killed Cyrus, Morrighan, furious and distraught, stabbed the creature until it died, and realizing how dire the situation was, she decided to leave, taking with her several of the gems containing Opal's memories, so that Lolth couldn't destroy them. Through the Telepathic Bond, the lagomore told her corrupted friend that she understood that she wasn't hurting them on purpose, that she would never be the Spider Queen's abomination, and that she would be welcomed back with her friends if she could free herself from her dark influence one day. As Mor was leaving the battlefield, she realized she wasn't doing it alone: the spirit of Cyrus was following her, since now it was her duty as a champion to guide the souls of the departed.
"A New Age Begins" (3x121)[]
Right before the Matron of Ravens embraced mortality once more through the Rites of Catatheosis, she summoned both Morrighan and the Champion of Ravens to her presence, telling them about the new era that was about to start, and their valuable role during the time in which she wouldn't be present. She turned the lagomore into a full champion, empowering her and making her very happy and filled with purpose; she and the older champion were tasked with the mission of being representatives of her domain and leaders of her faith, and to eventually find her in her new life, although advicing them to share responsibilities and allow themselves to rest. Mor was worried and excited and asked which type of creature would the goddess be next (causing her to laugh when she considered the possibilities); she also assured Vax'ildan (who had just regained some of his life back) that although they didn't knew each other much she would help him, and when he said they would get along well, she stated they would be friends. After the Raven Queen said goodbye, the both disappeared, as their vision ended.
Relationships[]
Matron of Ravens[]
In Kymal, Morrighan was constantly accompanied by a "songbird" connected to the Raven Queen, a sound that slowly led her to find a bust with the hidden name of the goddess on it. After the lagomore destroyed it, she gained the Matron's approval (who showed it by sending her a raven)[15] and in the following weeks she became more dedicated to her cause, becoming a paladin and a chosen at her service. Morrighan felt like the goddess of death gave her a home and a direction, as well as a feeling of light, despite her usually dark nature.[16] Although she trusted her goddess and valued what she represented, after she saw what the Spider Queen was doing to Opal, a part of Mor feared that one day the Raven Queen would turn her into an abomination too, although the goddess reassured her and focused on keeping her alive.[17] When it was revealed that Morrighan would become the Matron's second active champion along with Vax'ildan, acting as the Warden of the Matron's realm while the god was in mortal form, Morrighan was very happy, honored, and willing.[18]
Opal[]
When they first met, Opal thought Morrighan was really beautiful and cool, and feared she would become jealous of the lagomore. However, after they spent some time together they realized they were actually very compatible in the same team, respecting and balancing each other. Morrighan, after seeing Opal's relationship with Lolth, trusted her enough to talk with her about her own dealings with the Raven Queen.[19]
Even after fighting her Morrighan saw the warlock as a friend, and knew she wasn't trying to hurt her friends on purpose. Although the paladin left her behind, she took some of her memory gems with her in order to protect Opal's identity from the Spider Queen.[20]

Trivia[]
- She shares her name (although with a slight variation) with Morrigan the Fatestitcher.
- She's is the second confirmed player character who's not from the Prime Material Plane, the others being Fy'ra Rai (who's from the Elemental Plane of Fire)[50] and Prism Grimpoppy (who's from the Shadow Realm).
- She also has a parallel with Fearne Calloway, who was born in the Verdant Expanse but spent most of her life in the Feywild, as opposed to Morrighan, who was born in the Fey Realm but went to Exandria and grew up there.
- She is the only known case of a player character whose class has been completely changed between adventures, since she wanted to reinvent Mor.
- According to Aabria Iyengar, originally Erica wanted her character to become a dagger-wielding paladin, but the GM advised against it, as the result would be too similar to Vax'ildan.[51]
- Morrighan has some notions of hemocraft, being able to commune with her goddess using blood and the connection of the Matron of Death with blood magic.[52]
- In "4-Sided Dive: Swordgate" (4SDx24) Robbie Daymond accidentally called her "Morgana".[53]
