The Molten Titan was an elemental titan composed of liquid metal who was felled by elves during the Founding and subsequently sealed beneath the earth, producing the Daggerbay Mountains.[1]

The Daggerbay Mountains, which once shielded the predominately elven Verdant Expanse from the human-founded settlements of O'Noa and Emon.[art 1]
Despite inadvertently forming the Daggerbay Mountains, the Molten Titan was not remembered in the pages of history.[1]
As a premise for the adventure hook A Metal of Memory in the Critical Role: Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting and Reborn, the titan's body left behind pockets of the rare metal orichalcum far below the surface that had sparked a rush of entrepreneurs to mine into the earth, who eventually discovered some essence of the titan that still lived and sought vengeance.[2][3]
