Micah Cormorant is the Speaker of the Fourth at the Magisterium of Avalir. As an NPC in Exandria Unlimited: Calamity, Cormorant is played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.
Description[]
Like other residents of Avalir during the Age of Arcanum, Cormorant appeared to be disdainful of deities and those faithful to them.[5] He was also manipulative, willing to do things such as altering the memories of others to prevent his objectives from being jeopardized.[6]
Biography[]
Background[]
Magister Cormorant was one of the eight individuals representing magisterial bodies at Avalir; he represented the fourth voting body, hence his title as Speaker of the Fourth.[7]
Exandria Unlimited: Calamity[]
Cormorant was attending the gathering to celebrate the Replenishment when Purvan Suul, the champion of the Matron of Ravens, made his entrance. He approached Purvan alongside Lacrytia Hollow and Madara Glyph and engaged in conversation, instantly making presumptuous comments about Purvan and his dedication to the Matron, as well as remarking that First Knight Zerxus Ilerez needed to display no devotion to any deities in order to wield divine magic. Purvan put an end to their conversation and left.[8]
At that moment, Lacrytia turned invisible and followed Purvan out, preparing to make an attempt on his life. Cormoran touched Madara Glyph's neck in order to modify her memory and prevent her from remembering what was happening; however, Loquatius Seelie and Zerxus then approached Purvan to talk. They saved his life without knowing, as Lacrytia had to stop her attack. Cormoran made it seem to Madara as if he was being called away and departed, claiming he was going to his office.[6]
Patia Por'co was able to access Madara's memories and discovered what truly happened, which she shared with Laerryn Coramar-Seelie. Together, the pair went to the Magisterium and broke into Cormorant's office, engaging in a brief fight. Although he was invisible to begin with, Laerryn cast a potent fireball in his direction, which burned most of his body; a stone statue she had summoned then finished Cormoran off, smashing his vital organs.[9]
Laerryn and Patia later looked through the office and found that the teleportation daises had been tampered with, with an Infernal rune indicating Cormorant presumably had been inviting others in previously.[10] They also found a letter written in response to Cormorant, mentioning distrust towards the wizards of Avalir for their exploration of knowledge without seeing limitation.[11]
