Mark Strong is a British actor best known for portraying cold, calculating villains.[1]
Background[]
Mark was born in Islington, a neighborhood just north of the London, UK central city. His father left the family soon after his birth, and he was raised by his mother who worked as an au pair in various northern London suburbs. When Strong was young, his mother legally changed his name to help him fit in with his English peers. He attended Wymondham College in Morley, Norfolk. Originally, he intended to become a lawyer but returned to London after one year of studying German law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He subsequently studied English and drama at Royal Holloway, University of London before attending the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.[2]
Strong has appeared in a multitude of television shows, films, video games, and live theater productions since about 1989.[2]

- There was intense fan speculation that the "Assembly Mage" portrayed by Mark in "Cloak and Dagger (LoVM)" (LVM3x07) was a younger Trent Ikithon, based on his appearance. This was eventually confirmed in the cast list, and Mark also plays the archmage in the "Mighty Nein" animated series.[3][4]
