Lymmle Wist is a human mage and member of the Sentinels of Memory who infiltrated the Allegiance of Allsight.
Description[]
Lymmle is a female who has developed a mark of thin, raised red veins on her finger from ruidium corruption due to contact with a Ring of Red Fury. She is a conniving covert agent who is willing to frame others to protect her cover,[3] and is willing to kill for her cause.[4] If she loses her cover, she prefers to flee, but will fight to the death if cornered.[1]
Biography[]
Background[]
In an adventure set in 836 PD, Lymmle was a member of the Sentinels of Memory, a small group fanatically dedicated to keeping Cael Morrow sealed, believing that it was a prison for some horror from the Calamity that was covered up for a reason. She had months earlier posed as a well-qualified professor of antiquities to infiltrate the Allegiance of Allsight, the organization heading the excavation of Cael Morrow. At the Allegiance's Crystal Chateau, she taught one local woman, Amkezne, the ritual to summon an invisible stalker before that school year was out.[5]
She passed information to the Sentinels and to the Sentinels' patrons in the Consortium of the Vermilion Dream as she rose through the ranks enough to assign missions to Allegiance agents. The Consortium rewarded her with a Ring of Red Fury[6] that was stolen from an expedition as it returned to the surface, when Wist led two agents into a wrong turn where they were accosted by a thug and had their memories tampered with.[7]
Call of the Netherdeep[]
If the player characters (PCs) in Call of the Netherdeep join the Allegiance, their first mission is being sent by Wist to the Suncut Bazaar to retrieve a ruidium-infused marble elephant figurine that had been stolen from the Allegiance; the figurine turns into a huge, rampaging construct.[8] Wist then plants rumors of a second entrance to Cael Morrow, leading the PCs into an ambush by invisible stalkers she has summoned. This starts to raise suspicions about who summoned the stalkers; one piece of evidence may come from Amkezne. Wist then plants her Ring of Red Fury on Prolix Yusaf to frame him for the attack and make him appear to be the traitor,[6] but Prolix's friend, Bookkeeper Khime, has records that can help establish a pattern of missing items from expeditions led by Wist and lead to the two agents whose memories were altered. This, in turn, can lead to a deadly confrontation as Wist resists being apprehended.[7]
