The Lushgut Forest is an extensive woodland area on the west coast of Wildemount. It stretches north of the settled portions of the Menagerie Coast, and fills in all the low-lying territory between the Cyrios Mountains and the sea.
It is home to the Vinewreathed Enclave, a druidic civilization of goblins and bugbears who broke from the control of Bane. They are followers of Melora, whom they call an-Melzidanye.[1]
There are also yuan-ti who worship the Wild Mother near a sunken temple there.[1]
History
During the Calamity, Zehir ambushed Melora near one of her shrines in the valley. The ambush poisoned and killed a great number of Melora's followers, and her anguished scream created the tortuous, thorny forest.[1]
