Lucy Liu is an American actress, producer, and artist perhaps best known for her roles as O-Ren Ishii in Tarantino's Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Volume 2, and as Alex Munday in Charlie's Angels and its sequel. She also has had multiple roles in television series such as Ling Woo in Ally McBeal and Dr. Joan Watson in CBS' Elementary. She was the voice of Master Viper in the Kung Fu Panda franchise.

Lucy began studying English when she was five years old and also learned Mandarin at home. She studied Asian languages and cultures and was a member of the Chi Omega sorority at the University of Michigan after transferring from New York University.
At a young age, Lucy studied the traditional martial art of the Philippines known as "Arnis".
